Wild-cultivated medicinal mushroom Ganoderma lucidum was morphologically identified and sequenced using phylogenetic software. In submerged-liquid fermentation (SLF), biomass, exopolysaccharide (EPS) intracellular polysaccharide (IPS) production of the G.lucidum optimised based on initial pH, starting glucose concentration agitation rate parameters response surface methodology (RSM). Molecularly, G. strain QRS 5120 generated 637 base pairs, which commensurate with related species. RSM, by...

Medicinal plants have been used in traditional medicine for centuries due to their phytochemical components and medicinal properties. In this study, wild herbs Oldenlandia corymbosa (Lidah Ular), Striga asiatica (Jarum Mas) Phyllanthus niruri (Dukung Anak) were collected from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, dried, grounded. The powdered samples extracted using hot water, ethyl acetate ethanol 48 hours. Phytochemical analysis revealed antioxidants such as flavonoids phenolics all extracts,...

In a commercial oyster mushroom farm, fruiting body base (FBB) was not harvested compared to the common cap and stem of parts, thus remained as waste. present study, unused FBB powdered subjected proximate analysis floured (FFBB). FFBB found contain 71.2% carbohydrate, 8.93% moisture, 7.18% fibre, 5.72% ash, 5.57% protein, 1.4% fat, while raw-FBB (RFBB) contained 7.57% 84.4% 5.17% 1.54% 0.85% fat. The high carbohydrate content hot-water extraction yielded 7.40 g polysaccharide (FFBBP). Total...

The depletion of fossil fuels and the emission greenhouse gases have increased demand for new sustainable energy sources, leading to growing interest in using fast-growing filamentous fungi as a source bioenergy. This study aimed optimize production exopolysaccharides (EPS) mycelial biomass (MB) from native medicinal mushroom, Lignosus rhinocerus, through submerged liquid fermentation. Using response surface methodology (RSM), it was found that glucose concentration speed agitation...

The interaction between sucrose, yeast extract and initial pH was investigated to optimize critical medium components for mycelium biomass production of exopolysaccharide (EPS) Lentinus squarrosulus using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). A central composite design (CCD) applied a polynomial regression model with quadratic term used analyse the experimental data analysis variance (ANOVA). ANOVA showed that very significant (p are as follows: sucrose concentration 114.61 g/L, 1.62 g/L 5.81;...

The pellet morphology and diameter range (DR) of Ganoderma lucidum were observed in a repeated-batch fermentation (RBF) for the trio total production biomass, exopolysaccharide (EPS) endopolysaccharide (ENS). Two factors involved RBF; broth replacement ratio (BRR: 60%, 75% 90%) time point (BRTP: log, transition stationary phase) days. In RBF, 34.31 g/L biomass favoured small-compact pellets with DR 20.67 µm< d < 24.00 µm (75% BRR, day 11 BRTP). EPS 4.34 was prone to...

Conventional stirred-tank bioreactor (STR) designs are optimised for cultures of bacteria but not fungal cultures; therefore, a new Air-L-Shaped Bioreactor (ALSB) was fabricated. The ALSB designed to eliminate the wall growth and clumping mycelium in STRs. Ganoderma lucidum used as model its biomass exopolysaccharide (EPS) production were maximised by optimising agitation rate, glucose concentration, initial pH, aeration via response surface methodology (RSM). system generated 7.8 g/L...
