This paper proposes a new robust adaptive beamformer applicable to microphone arrays. The proposed is generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) with blocking matrix using coefficient-constrained filters (CCAFs) and multiple-input norm-constrained (NCAFs). CCAFs minimize leakage of the target-signal into interference path GSC. Each coefficient constrained avoid mistracking. input signal all output fixed beamformer. In canceller, NCAFs prevent undesirable cancellation when minimization at...

Serial sections of the brains two cases with Alzheimer's disease were stained standard Bodian, modified Bielschowsky (reformed Gros‐Schultze's modification) and thioflavin S methods. The numbers demonstrated neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) different between silver stains: from 15 to 75% more NFTs shown distinctly stain than Bodian stain. Many in both eosinophilic less argentophilic type. Although not counted, seemed have no apparent advantage over demonstration NFTs.

A novel rechargeable lithium/air battery was fabricated, which consisted of a water-stable multilayer Li-metal anode, acetic acid-water electrolyte, and fuel-cell analogous air-diffusion cathode possessed high energy density 779 W h kg(-1), twice that the conventional graphite/LiCoO(2) cell.

Abstract: Under typical culture conditions, cerebellar granule cells die abruptly after 17 days in vitro. This burst of neuronal death involves ultrastructural changes and internucleosomal DNA fragmentations characteristic apoptosis is effectively arrested by pretreatment with actinomycin‐D cycloheximide. The level a 38‐kDa protein the particulate fraction markedly increased during age‐induced cell NMDA, which potentiates this death. Conversely, increment suppressed N‐terminal...

A water-stable Li metal anode with lithium-conducting glass ceramics, (LTAP), and a polymer electrolyte, , was proposed as the lithium for lithium–air batteries an aqueous solution at air electrode. LTAP unstable when in direct contact metal, cell resistance of Li∕LTAP∕Li rapidly increased function time. The symmetrical showed no change total (around ) over period . membrane served protective interlayer to suppress reaction between ceramics effectively. ∕LTAP∕aqueous stable open-circuit...

In three patients dementia without neurofibrillary tangles or Pick bodies antedated amyotrophy by several years. The motor neuron disorder in two was characterized terminal bulbar symptoms; one it similar to classic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. patients, quantitative studies of selected regions the cortex using a computerized image analyzer disclosed, as with senile Alzheimer type, marked reduction number neurons, especially those larger than 90 mu 2. findings differed from dementia,...
