The effect of conformation on glycoside reactivity was investigated by studying the hydrolysis a selection 3,6-anhydroglucosides as models for glucose in highly reactive 1C4 conformation. Methyl 3,6-anhydro-β-d-glucopyranoside found to hydrolyze 200−400 times faster than methyl glucosides 4C1 conformation, while 3,6-anhydro-β-d-galactopyranoside, which is B1,4 less β-d-galactopyranoside. (3,6-anhydro-β-d-glucopyranosyl)-(1 → 6)-α-d-glucopyranoside, (3,6-anhydro-α-d-glucopyranosyl)-(1...

1-Deoxynojirimycin, 1-deoxymannojirimycin, and 1-deoxygalactostatin have been synthesized by epoxidation of tri-O-acetyl-6-deoxyhex-5-enopyranosyl azides followed methanolysis, deacetylation, catalytic hydrogenation. 1,6-Dideoxygalactostatin was obtained the reaction 2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-6-deoxy-beta-L-arabino-hex-5-enopyranosyl azide with NIS in methanol deacetylation The overall yields were 4.4-23.5% over seven to nine steps.

The objectives of this study are to evaluate the effects (1) a potential interaction between supplement crude protein (CP) concentration and differing cow genotypes on milk production, (2) (3) decreasing CP production N excretion during main grazing season within spring-calving herd. A 2 × factorial arrangement experiment, with feeding strategies [14%; n = 30 (lower CP; LCP) 18%; 28 (higher HCP) concentrate supplements] offered at varying levels according pasture availability days in (DIM)...

The military man has long been a popular figure in works of literature; it is the transitional period mid-eighteenth century, prior to tumult French Revolution, on which Karen Lacey focuses this engaging work. liminal figure, civilian who becomes soldier, and work likewise at crossroads studies, history, gender theory — undoubtedly benefits from interdisciplinary approach. Inspired by Judith Butler’s as performance (reflected performative aspects masculinity; see Gender Trouble: Feminism...
