The Hemophilia Joint Health Score (HJHS) was developed and validated to detect arthropathy in children. Additional evidence is required show validity adults. We studied the convergent discriminant construct of HJHS version 2.1(HJHSv2.1) adults with hemophilia. A secondary aim define age-related normative adult HJHSv2.1 reference values.
Abstract Background and Purpose Phantom limb pain (PLP) can be disabling for nearly two thirds of amputees. Hence, there is a need to find an effective inexpensive treatment that self administered. Among the non‐pharmacological PLP, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) applied contralateral extremity mirror therapy are promising options. However, no studies compare treatments. The purpose this study evaluate TENS in management PLP subjects with amputation. Methods was assessor...
Flexion deformity of the knee is a common complication following recurrent haemarthrosis in persons with haemophilia (PWH) on episodic factor replacement therapy, restricting independent mobility. There limited literature comprehensive management this condition. This report provides outcome staged multidisciplinary approach for correction flexion (KFD) even resource settings.
Abstract Introduction Haemophilia patients not treated with primary or secondary prophylaxis, often present recurrent haemarthrosis. Knee is the most frequently involved joint leading to disabling knee flexion deformity (KFD). Here, we a retrospective study of our experience on role mobilization under general anaesthesia in correction KFD. Aim To effectiveness (MUA) for (KFD) persons haemophilia (PWH). Methods Outcome all managed MUA multidisciplinary clinic from 2008 2019 were included...
Background and Objectives: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a painful condition affecting 85% of population with radiologically evident changes in subjects above 65 years age, causing disability muscle weakness.Shortwave diathermy (SWD) deep heating modality which has been extensively used to alleviate pain persons OA knees. However the problem non-adherence this remains challenge persistent because long treatment period, as result which, substantial numbers patients do not get maximum benefit,...
Aim of the Study:To investigate effect antipronation taping on subjects with pronated foot during single limb stance. Background: Abnormal pronation causes passive instability joints foot. The foot, therefore, is unstable weight bearing. The stance lacks evidence.Study Design: Single-group repeated measures design.Methodology: Ten (3 men, 7 women) (navicular drop = 13.0 ± 3.7mm) participated in this study conducted at Mary Varghese Institute Rehabilitation, Christian Medical College,...
Over the last three decades, insights into role of median nerve in precision grip control have been documented study healthy volunteers using Microneurography Technique 1 or a anesthesia block at wrist hand . Accurate requires proper adjustment force (GF) perpendicular to surface object and tangential load (LF). Prevents objects from slipping prevents premature muscle fatigue. Neurodynamic techniques (NDT) are type manual therapy which forces supposed be directed neural regions via...
