All health overuse implies an unnecessary risk of patients suffering adverse events (AEs). However, this hypothesis has not been corroborated by direct estimates for inappropriate hospital admission (IHA). The objectives the study were following: (1) to analyze association between IHA and development subsequent AEs; (2) explore distinct clinical economic implications AEs compared appropriate admissions. An observational cross-sectional was conducted on hospitalized in May 2019 a...

We investigated the duration of humoral and T-cell immune response in paired samples among 22 convalescent healthcare workers (HCWs). A median 1.8 months after diagnosis, was significantly lower HCWs with early loss antibodies (6 cases [27%]). After 5.1 months, antibody decline observed 77% (41% seroreverted; P < .01), 36% had lost (75% to spike protein). Persistence those who developed a greater adaptive response. Our data point initial as relevant player coronavirus disease 2019 protection.
Abstract The reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) continues to be the reference diagnostic method for confirmation of COVID-19 cases; however, rapid antigen detection tests (RADT) have recently been developed. purpose study is assess performance antigen-based testing in context hospital outbreaks. This was an observational, cross-sectional study. period from October 2020 January 2021. “Panbio AG” RADT (Abbott) performed and TaqPath test RT-PCR. samples were obtained...
