In the field of micelle templated structures (MTS), MSU-X family mesoporous silica is obtained by using nonionic poly(ethylene oxide)-based surfactants. We show that microstructure these materials highly dependent on initial pH conditions and a first assembly step, mild acidity, which allowed us to obtain stable solution containing micellar hybrid objects made both surfactant micelles small oligomers, can be determined in 2−4 range. The second step synthesis consists condensation particles...
The reaction of manganese(III) acetate meso-tetraphenylporphyrin with phenylphosphinic acid provides the one-dimensional compound formula [Mn(TPP)O2PHPh]·H2O, which crystallizes in monoclinic C2/c space group. chain structure is generated by a glide plane resulting Jahn−Teller elongation axes MnIII octahedra that alternate along chain. phenylphosphinate anion transmits sizable antiferromagnetic exchange interaction that, combined easy axis magnetic anisotropy sites, gives rise to canted...
The self-assembly of ureido crown-ether derivatives has been examined in homogeneous solution, the solid state, and planar bilayer membranes. is driven by head-to-tail hydrogen bonding between urea functional groups. Dimers higher oligomers are formed CDCl3 solution as assessed change NH chemical shift a function concentration. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction shows that an antiparallel association ureas produces columnar channels composed face-to-face crown ethers. Powder studies also show...

Hydrazine borane (N(2)H(4)BH(3)) is the novel boron- and nitrogen-based material appearing to be a promising candidate in chemical hydrogen storage. It stores 15.4 wt% of hydridic protic forms, challenge release H(2) with maximum efficiency, if possible all stored material. An important step realize this ambitious goal synthesize HB high yields purity, characterize it fully. In work, we report 2-step synthesis (salt metathesis solvent extraction-drying) through which N(2)H(4)BH(3)...
Aquaporins (AQPs) are biological water channels known for fast transport (∼10(8)-10(9) molecules/s/channel) with ion exclusion. Few synthetic have been designed to mimic this high permeability, and none reject ions at a significant level. Selective translocation has previously shown depend on water-wires spanning the AQP pore that reverse their orientation, combined correlated channel motions. No quantitative correlation between dipolar orientation of effects proton reported. Here, we use...
Chiral dipolar oriented water wires are observed inside artificial channels embedded in supported bilayer membranes.
The thermal expansion properties of crystalline organic compounds are investigated by data mining the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). mean volumetric coefficient is 168.8 × 10-6 K-1 and uniaxial 71.4 K-1, based on 745 1129 different observations, respectively. Normal anomalous coefficients can be identified using these values associated standard deviations. anisotropy also evaluated found to have a very broad distribution. 4719 structures, comprising 4093 molecular 626 additional...
This work describes the detailed structural investigation of mesophase-templated mesoporous silica films by 1D and 2D X-ray scattering techniques transmission electron microscopy. The are prepared sol−gel dip coating with hexagonal templating mesophases, yielding structures consisting cylindrical pores whose axes aligned parallel to surface. It is shown that drying thermal treatments induce an unidirectional shrinkage layers in direction normal film. true rectangular symmetry only evidenced...
Constitutional self-instructed membranes were developed and used for mimicking the adaptive structural functionality of natural ion-channel systems. These are based on dynamic hybrid materials in which functional self-organized macrocycles reversibly connected with inorganic silica through hydrophobic noncovalent interactions. Supramolecular columnar architectures can be generated by reversible confinement within scaffolding mesopores. They structurally determined using X-ray diffraction...
Snapshot of a Strained Ring Benzene and cyclobutadiene possess diametrically opposed properties. The former, hexagonal hydrocarbon with geometry perfectly suited to its bonding arrangement, exhibits unusual stability. latter, two fewer carbons tightly squeezed into the right angles 4-membered ring, rapidly forms dimer relieve considerable geometric electronic strain. Monomeric was first isolated in substantial quantity by confining it within molecular shell, but has eluded full structural...
The reaction of gold nanoparticles with benzimididazol-2-ylidene ligands leads to the formation well-defined bis-carbene gold(I) complexes, as shown by characterization techniques such powder XRD and solid state NMR.
Zinc oxide (ZnO) and graphene (G) have been extensively studied because of their unique physical properties. Here, graphene–zinc (G/ZnO) nanolaminates were fabricated, respectively, by chemical vapor deposition low-temperature atomic layer technique. The number obtained G/ZnO layers was tuned from 1 to 11 with a total thickness 100 nm for all prepared nanolaminates. structure, optical properties, interaction between G ZnO X-ray methods, TEM, AFM, Raman, spectroscopy. results interpreted...
Artificial water channels (AWCs) are known to selectively transport water, with ion exclusion. Similarly natural porins, AWCs encapsulate wires or clusters, offering continuous and iterative H-bonding that plays a vital role in their stabilization. Herein, we report octyl-ureido-polyol capable of self-assembly into hydrophilic hydroxy channels. Variants ethanol, propanediol, trimethanol used as head groups modulate the permeabilities, rejection ions. The achieve single-channel permeability...
Spherical particles of mesoporous MSU-X silica in the micrometric size range have been obtained through a new double step process that led to an easy and highly reproducible synthesis pathway giving micelle templated structures with large surface area narrow pore distribution
[structure: see text] The synthesis of heteroditopic macrocyclic ureido receptors and their NaX complexes is described. NMR studies determination the crystal structure show formation self-organized dimeric or polymeric superstructures by a cooperative cation complexation, anion-hydrogen bonding, pi-pi stacking interactions. Membrane transport experiments direct relation between synergetic ion-pair recognition properties these molecular information transfer devices.

Abstract An enantioselective cyclopropanation of α‐substituted α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes with bromomalonate has been successfully developed through a domino Michael/α‐alkylation strategy. The method allows the efficient formation cyclopropanes bearing quaternary carbon stereocenter at α‐position by using iminium/enamine catalysis and gives nice extension on organocatalytic previously reported other groups. Very good yields (up to 81 %) enantioselectivities 97 % ee ) have obtained. optically...
