Abstract In a real-life study using time-based ambulatory assessment, we investigated how to unobtrusively capture within-subject and between-subject variations in flow everyday life. We compared two observation approaches, momentary states, coverage, which differed the reference of reports sampling frequency. Depending on condition, participants ( N = 38) answered either ten or five queries per day that referred current state last hours n 1442 observations total). found no effect approach...

Advancements in wearable EEG could provide valuable foundations for studying flow experiences everyday life. In this study, we report initial findings on using unobtrusive, comfortable around-the-ear electrodes (cEEGrids) to monitor levels. Tree-based regression models show that reports across three different tasks can be predicted with a mean absolute error (MAE) of 11% study participants. These results represent potential starting point further research cEEGrids the momentary capturing...

Conducting mental work by interacting with digital technology increases productivity, but strains attentional capacities and well-being. In consequence, many workers try to cultivate their flow experience. However, this is complex difficult achieve. Nevertheless, current technological systems do not yet provide support in work. As interoception, the individual bodily awareness an underlying mechanism of numerous correlates, it might offer a new approach for flow-supporting these scenarios....
