Abstract The reaction of copper(II) nitrate hydrate with sodium 2‐[2‐(2,4‐dioxopentan‐3‐ylidene)hydrazinyl]terephthalate (Na 2 H L 1 ) in the absence or presence imidazole (im) leads to new complexes [(H O)Cu 0.5 {(μ‐ ‐1κ O :2κ 3 N , O′ O″ )Cu(H O) }] ( and [Cu(im)(μ‐H )] ), respectively, whereas 1D coordination polymer [Cu (H (μ‐H )(μ‐ N′ n is obtained from Cu(NO · 2.5H 2‐[2‐(4,4‐dimethyl‐2,6‐dioxocyclohexylidene)hydrazinyl]terephthalate ). All compounds were characterized by ESI‐MS, IR...

A sustainable organic synthetic methodology for the preparation of novel biocompatible ionic liquids (ILs) based on gluconate anion has been developed. Four functionalized methylimidazolium cations were efficiently combined with gluconic acid by acid-base neutralization reactions. All salts obtained as RTILs in high yields (92–98%) and purity levels. Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) studies had proved correct cation/anion proportion (1:1) their chemical stability. These ILs can be...

This study covers the modification, (bio)fouling characterization, use, and cleaning of commercial heterogeneous anion exchange membranes (AEMs) to evaluate their feasibility for reverse electrodialysis (RED) applications. A surface modification with poly (acrylic) acid resulted in an improved monovalent perm-selectivity (decreased sulfate membrane transport rate). Moreover, we evaluated potential using sodium dodecyl (SDS), benzenesulfonate (SDBS), Aeromonas hydrophila as model organic...

The novel Ag(I) and Cu(II) coordination polymers [Ag(μ3-1κO;2:3κO′;4κN-HL)]n∙n/2H2O (1) [Cu(en)2(μ-1κO;2κN-L)]n∙nH2O (2) [HL− = 2-(2-(1-cyano-2-oxopropylidene)hydrazinyl)benzene sulfonate] were synthesized characterized by IR ESI-MS spectroscopies, elemental single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Compounds 1 2 as well the already known complex salt [Cu(H2O)2(en)2](HL)2 (3) have been tested homogenous catalysts for cyanosilylation reaction of different aldehydes with trimethylsilyl...
