The electro-oxidation of dimethyl ether (DME), which is regarded as a promising alternative fuel for cells, on platinum single-crystal electrode surfaces in acidic solution has been characterized by electrochemical and situ IR observations. It found that the behavior DME depends significantly surface structures. (100)-terrace shows particularly high activity C−O bonding supposed to be selectively cleaved (100) terraces.

The design and synthesis of low-cost efficient non-noble metal bifunctional electrocatalysts for enhancing the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) evolution (OER) is a pressing demand development rechargeable zinc-air batteries. In this paper, range metal@nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (M@N-CNTs, M = Fe, Ni) materials were prepared by typical solvothermal with Fe Ni co-doped zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) as precursors. synthesized catalysts have multidimensional structure...

Abstract magnified image 2,4,5‐Triaryl‐5 H ‐chromeno[4,3‐ b ]pyridines were synthesized from a three‐component cascade reaction of 2′‐hydroxyacetophenone, aromatic aldehyde, and ammonium acetate catalyzed by 2‐1′‐methylimidazolium‐3‐yl‐1‐ethyl sulfate under microwave irradiation. Nine new bonds two rings formed in one‐pot. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2009).

Surface nano-structuring on photoresist beyond the diffraction limit has been investigated by using total internal reflection induced evanescence wave interference with a Lloyd's mirror. The size of patterns can be down to 80 nm incident laser wavelength, λ, 325 nm, less than λ/4 resolution. This may attributed evanescent wave, which shorter wavelength that in air. energy distribution was studied theoretically. It shows good agreement experiments. technique used improve traditional...

Plasmids are mostly found in bacteria as extrachromosomal genetic elements and widely used engineering. Exploring the mechanisms of plasmid–host interaction can provide crucial information for application plasmids However, many studies have generally focused on influence their bacterial hosts, effects bacteria-feeding animals not been explored detail. Here, we use a “plasmid–bacteria–Caenorhabditis elegans” model to explore impact host bacterivorous nematodes. First, phenotypic responses C....

Using both theoretical analysis and phase field simulation, we reveal robust facile self-assembly routes, which allow the growth of different stable ordered nanostructures on various polyhedral nanocrystals (NCs) heteroepitaxially. Our studies show that by increasing NC's size, transitions from formal to quantum dots facets further corners take place. The predicted morphologies their are in excellent agreement with existing widely scattered experimental results. study presents a potentially...
