Using polymerasechain reaction and two degenerate primers whose designs were based on the best conserved regions of DNA-binding domain nuclear receptor superfamily, we identified cloned a novel orphan receptor, named TAKl.The open reading frame TAKl encodes protein 596 amino acid residues.Based modular structure presence containing zinc fingers belongs to steroid/thyroid hormone superfamily. The sequence is most closely related TR2-11.Their overall homology 64%, with highest similarity (82%)...

Abstract In Drosophila melanogaster , Vestigial (Vg) and Scalloped (Sd) form a transcription factor complex play crucial role in wing development. To extend our knowledge of insect formation, we isolated vg sd homologues from two ladybird beetle species, Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata Harmonia axyridis . Although the had only low homology with D. ectopic expression H. induced wing‐like tissues antennae legs Subsequent larval RNA interference (RNAi) analysis demonstrated conserved...

Spotted fever group rickettsioses are transmitted by several types of arthropods (including ticks, chiggers, fleas, and lice) distributed worldwide. Japanese spotted (JSF) was discovered as an emerging rickettsiosis in 1984. The annual number cases has increased 3-fold during the last decade. In Japan, JSF been mainly reported area with warm climate that borders Pacific Ocean. We describe a family/neighborhood cluster three Japan had previously not considered endemic.

Background: Eosinophils play an important role in allergic responses. Eotaxin is a CC chemokine that promotes the selective recruitment of eosinophils. This study was performed to investigate significance eotaxin pediatric food allergies. Methods: The population included 35 patients with allergy, 18 atopic dermatitis but without and 19 age-matched non-allergic controls. Eotaxin-1 eotaxin-3 levels plasma were assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Simultaneously, eosinophil counts...
