Context:Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy with poor prognosis in need of more effective treatment options. Published evidence indicates many ACCs express the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), suggesting inhibiting signaling could potentially impact tumor growth.
Liver abscesses in chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) are typically difficult to treat and often require surgery. We describe 9 X-linked CGD patients with staphylococcal liver refractory conventional therapy successfully treated corticosteroids antibiotics. Corticosteroids may have a role treatment of Staphylococcus aureus CGD.
