P-glycoprotein (Pgp) antagonists have been difficult to develop because of complex pharmacokinetic interactions and a failure show meaningful results. Here we report the results pharmacodynamic trial using third-generation, potent, noncompetitive inhibitor Pgp, tariquidar (XR9576), in combination with docetaxel.
Background In this multicenter, single‐arm, multicohort, phase 2 trial, the efficacy of nivolumab and ipilimumab was evaluated in patients with advanced rare genitourinary cancers, including bladder upper tract carcinoma variant histology (BUTCVH), adrenal tumors, platinum‐refractory germ cell penile carcinoma, prostate cancer (NCT03333616). Methods Patients malignancies no prior immune checkpoint inhibitor exposure were enrolled. received at 3 mg/kg 1 intravenously every weeks for 4 doses,...
To assess the feasibility of combined electromagnetic device tracking and computed tomography (CT)/ultrasonography (US)/fluorine 18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission (PET) fusion for real-time feedback during percutaneous intraoperative biopsies hepatic radiofrequency (RF) ablation. In this HIPAA-compliant, institutional review board-approved prospective study with written informed consent, 25 patients (17 men, eight women) underwent 33 three 36 FDG-avid targets between November 2007...
Context:Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy with poor prognosis in need of more effective treatment options. Published evidence indicates many ACCs express the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), suggesting inhibiting signaling could potentially impact tumor growth.
Liver abscesses in chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) are typically difficult to treat and often require surgery. We describe 9 X-linked CGD patients with staphylococcal liver refractory conventional therapy successfully treated corticosteroids antibiotics. Corticosteroids may have a role treatment of Staphylococcus aureus CGD.
