Based on a careful examination of the voucher specimens, newly recorded Spiradiclis purpureocaerulea H. S. Lo from Vietnam was confirmed to be misidentification coccinea Lo. Coincidentally, is species previously known only China, and represents new record for flora Vietnam. True specimens were collected by authors in Thanh Hua Province (Vietnam) 2017. Therefore, we report as records here. Detailed descriptions color photographs two key five are also provided.
Based on field investigations and a review of relevant literature specimens, Agapetes leiocarpa is shown to be conspecific with A. atrosanguinea thus reduced as synonym under the latter. The floral morphology camelliifolia described for first time based living collections from wild. Revised descriptions, color plates taxonomic notes these two species are also provided.
Lysimachia rupestris F. H. Chen & C. M. Hu is reported for the first time in Vietnam, Cat Ba National Park. The supplemental description of its floral characters applied. It has glabrous yellow corollas divided near to base, and stamens with short filaments connate basally into a ring basifixed anthers opening by apical pores. systematic position L. closely related species also discussed.
This study aims to end the debate whether Indosasa triangulata belongs or Pleioblastus. The evidence from our morphological and molecular phylogenetic analyses clearly indicate that should be a member of Pleioblastus, rather than Indosasa, is distinct species close Pleioblastus maculatus P. oleosus. Thus, it transferred in this study. A detailed description as well two color plates also provided.
Agapetes hongheensis , a new species of Ericaceae from Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated. This resembles A. mannii hosseana but differs the former by its linear or narrowly oblong bullate leaf blade with strongly recurved margin obvious reticulate veinlets adaxially, larger flowers yellow green glabrous corollas longer stamens, can be distinguished latter having twigs, blades, exerted style.
Primulina longiflora, a new species endemic to Guangxi, China, is described and illustrated. The most similar P. curvituba in the shape texture of leaf blades curved corolla tube, but mainly differs having longer calyx lobes, salverform much corolla, bifid lower stigma lobe. Conservation status discussions on differences between this morphologically are also provided.
A new bamboo species, Bambusarushunii, from Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, China, is described and illustrated in this paper. The species resembles B.gibba B.dissimulator having branchlets specialised into weak thorns at the lower nodes of culms, but can be easily distinguished latter two by one or extremely shortened internodes culm base, glabrous internode, leaf sheath being dark brown strigose on central part with a nearly truncate slightly obliquely apex, relatively high ligule,...
A comprehensive morphological and taxonomic revision of the imperfectly known species, Pistacia cucphuongensis (Anacardiaceae), is presented. Previously only recorded from Vietnam, this species newly reported China in study. The floral morphology P. described for first time based on observations living plants field herbarium specimens. complete list examined specimens, a distribution map, colour plate are provided. Additionally, conservation status assessed, detailed comparison with...
Abstract Sasa is a taxonomically problematic genus of bamboos mainly distributed in Japan and China. Recent phylogenetic analyses demonstrated that polyphyletic, with Chinese species being distantly related to from Japan. Based on newly collected flowering materials China, it was found the hitherto placed subg. have racemose synflorescences, 2–3 florets per spikelet rudimentary terminal floret, 3 stamens 2 stigmas floret. This distinguishes them type other genus, which paniculate 4–10...
Vaccinium bangliangense , a new species from limestone areas in Guangxi, China, is described and illustrated. It morphologically most similar to V. pseudotonkinense sciaphilum having small dense obovate leaf blades with retuse apex, hairy young branches calyx campanulate corollas, but can be distinguished them by the distance of basal gland petiole, length peduncle, pedicle filaments, indumentum tube corolla existence apical glands on lobes. A table distinguish other species, as well colour...
Pseudosasa was confirmed as polyphyletic by recent phylogenetic analyses, with Chinese species of distantly related to those from Japan. Among the , pubiflora is a morphologically unique well taxonomically problematic endemic South China, which generic designation still uncertain. Molecular analyses based on both plastid and nuclear genomic data demonstrated that this closest recently published genus Sinosasa . Morphologically, two are somewhat similar each other in flowering branches...
Vaccinium jiuwanshanense, a new species from Jiuwanshan National Nature Reserve, Guangxi, China, is described and illustrated. It similar to V. subfalcatum, but can be easily distinguished the latter by its smaller habit, dense leaves, shorter pubescent inflorescence rachis, bracteoles inserted near apex of pedicel, corolla with small teeth at middle longitudinal ridges stamens very downward spurs on back anther tubules. Detailed morphological descriptions, colour photographs, distribution,...
Guangdong Province has a rich diversity of higher plants, ranking it sixth in China. This study compiles an updated dataset plants with county-level records by drawing from sources including floras, illustrated plant books, nature reserve checklists, academic papers, dissertations, specimens, photos the Plant Photo Bank China, and our own field surveys. The resulting details distributions various taxa specific counties cities. As July 2023, this contains 8,106 374 families 2,284 genera...
The Xizang Autonomous Region, the provincial administrative region with second largest land area in China, is located on vast Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which, addition to being tallest and plateau world, also an incredibly rich biodiversity hotspot, supporting a variety of ecosystem.Initial efforts by research groups 1980's elucidate full extent plant diversity this has been described previously book series Flora Xizangica, however collection records plants southern remains largely incomplete...
Vaccinium damingshanense (Ericaceae), a new species from Daming Mountain, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China is described, illustrated and placed in key for the identification of V . sect. Eococcus Sleumer China. The similar to V. carlesii Dunn, but differs leaf shape, margin character details anther thecae. Information on its distribution ecology also provided.
A new species and a variety of the genus Agapetes from Kachin State, Myanmar are described illustrated here. putaoensis sp. nov. can be easily recognized by its very short peduncles small cylindric-conical corollas divided more than half, wardii var. heterotricha differs typical in having longer pedicels puberulous calyxes sometimes with glandular setae. The distribution map these two taxa is also provided.
Agapetes xiana sp. nov., from Southeast Xizang, China is described and illustrated here. It similar to A. xizangensis subansirica, but differs the former by its larger leaves, longer pedicels, smaller calyx lobes, yellowish green corollas stamens, latter having inflorescences with fewer flowers, much stamens. Its taxonomic position also discussed.
A new genus of Arundinarieae, Khoonmengia, is established to accommodate a unique bamboo species, K. honbaensis, from central-southern Vietnam. The morphological features, habitats and distribution Khoonmengia related genera, i.e. Ampelocalamus Hsuehochloa, are compared. characters its scrambling habit, internodes with brownish green dots, conspicuous nodes swollen at one side, elliptic buds wholly sunken into culm, extravaginal branching pattern, mid-culm branch complement central dominant...
Vaccinium motuoense (Ericaceae), a new species from Motuo County, Xizang Autonomous Region, China is described and illustrated. This belongs to sect. Calcicolus morphologically most similar V. dunalianum , but differs in having yellowish-brown tomentose young branches, petioles inflorescence rachis, leaf blades with 2–3(–4) pairs of secondary veins, usually all basal fine veins impressed adaxially urceolate spherical corollas.
