Abstract The present study deals with the intricate phylogenetic relationships within an important clade of caridean shrimp family Alpheidae, which includes genera Salmoneus, Deioneus, and Triacanthoneus. Using molecular data from four genes (16S, 18S, COI, H3), we herein provide most comprehensive hypothesis for this alpheid clade, 161 terminals representing 117 ESUs, i.e. genetically distinct species. Our analysis reveals well-supported larger Clades, as well 25 smaller clades,...

Two new closely related to A. trigona, viz. paratrigona sp. nov. gotrina nov., are described, first several localities in tropical western Atlantic, second Pacific coast Panama Colombia. three...

We present the first global assessment of extinction risk for a major group freshwater invertebrates, caridean shrimps. The all 763 species was assessed using IUCN Red List criteria that include geographic ranges, habitats, ecology and past threats. Indo-Malayan region holds over half diversity, with peak in Indo-China southern China. Shrimps primarily inhabit flowing water; however, significant subterranean component is present, which more threatened than surface fauna. Two are extinct...
