Photovoltaic and structural characteristics of Langmuir-Blodgett film photocells have been studied using asymmetrically substituted copper phthalocyanine (asy-CuPc). By polarized-light absorbance measurements, each molecule was found to be arranged in the with its ring facing towards dipping direction. The polarity photoelectric showed typical features expected for an organic p-type Schottky diode, while dark exhibited a reversed polarity. maximum short-circuit photocurrent on order 10 -8...
An extended model of flow orientation has been developed for analyzing the inplane anisotropy in Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films by taking into account viscoelastic nature a condensed monolayer at air-water interface as Bingham plasticity. The is based on two-dimensional fluid and line-sink representing substrate, respectively. predictions from present with respect to dichroic behavior have experimentally verified employing mixed LB system merocyanine dye fatty acid. also consistent remarks ESR...
The microscopic mechanisms behind the very high mobility in rubrene single-crystal transistors achieved by interface treatments with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) have been clarified using field-induced electron spin resonance (FI-ESR). Clearly observed FI-ESR signals exhibit extremely narrow linewidths owing to carrier mobility. precise angular dependence of $g$ values shows that crystallinity semiconductor channel is unchanged SAM treatments. trapping time charge carriers at directly...
Hydrophobic poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane surface was treated with atmospheric pressure low temperature plasma and investigated physical chemical characterization. The contact angle of water on the exposed reduced increasing treatment voltage time, so indicates that treatments can modify PVDF from hydrophobic to hydrophilic. In order analyze phenomenon in detail, progress defluorination including dehydrofluorination oxidation reactions onto examined by X-ray photoelectron...
Fluoroalkylsilane (FTS) acts as an efficient p-type dopant for organic semiconductors. FTS-doped films of the semicrystalline PBTTT polymer exhibit relatively high conductivities. We demonstrate that highly doped a metallic nature with clear Pauli paramagnetism observed microscopically using electron spin resonance spectroscopy. The state is realized within crystalline grains, confirmed from anisotropy ESR signal. As service to our authors and readers, this journal provides supporting...

We report electron spin resonance (ESR) studies on field-induced charge carriers in regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (RR-P3HT) and poly(3-octylthiophene) (RR-P3OT) for metal–insulator–semiconductor (MIS) diode structures with Al 2 O 3 as an insulating layer. The ESR signals ( g ∼2.002) were clearly observed; their intensities monotonically increased the absolute value of gate bias accumulation mode a saturation behavior at higher voltages. consistent those photogenerated positive polarons...
Frontier-orbital design aided in the preparation of novel neutral linear chain rhodium(I,II) complex [Rh(3,6-dbdiox-4,5-Cl2)(CO)2]∞ (see picture), which mixed-valent state is formed by electron transfer between metal d and semiquinonate π* orbitals (3,6-dbdiox-4,5-Cl2: or catecholate 3,6-di-tert-butyl-4,5-dichloro-1,2-benzoquinone). This compound exhibits high conductivity (17–34 S cm−1) at room temperature spite its being a molecule. Supporting information for this article available on WWW...
The environment of the stable radical in an x-ray irradiated crystal L-alanine CH3CH(NH3+)CO2− was studied at 77 K with use ENDOR technique. analysis indicated that as C–N bond ruptured and formed, α carbon atom Cα shifted by a distance 1.5 Å. As result, for several protons between proton found to be much shorter than corresponding undamaged crystal; example, 2.3 Å compared 3.9 case methyl proton. transferred N–H hydrogen participate exchange C–H hydrogens this CH3ĊHCO2− radical.
Ultrathin-film polymeric transistors with controlled in-plane chain orientation have been fabricated based on Langmuir–Blodgett technique by cospreading liquid crystal molecule regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene). The mobilities parallel to the direction reached 0.001–0.01 cm2/V s for 1 5 monolayer thick transistors. Mobility ratio was about 2 and perpendicular directions. Electron spin resonance (ESR) signals of field-induced polarons exhibited clear anisotropies due unpaired π-electrons....
Ions and electrons in blends of polymer–electrolyte can work ensemble to operate light‐emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), which the unique features situ formed p–n homojunctions offer efficient charge injection transport. However, give rise significant stability speed issues due limited low ion mobility, resulting brightness a slow response LECs. Here, these are overcome by separate control ionic electronic charges, using simple driving pulse superimposed on small base voltage; ions with...
Abstract Backbone rigidity of conjugated polymers is suggested to play an essential role in realizing high-mobility transistors through the efficient interconnection crystalline domains by tie molecules as discussed for recently-developed donor-acceptor (DA)-type copolymers. However, no studies have directly observed interdomain hopping these DA Here, highly-efficient charge transport two typical copolymers from microscopic observation carriers using field-induced electron spin resonance...
Electron-nuclear double-resonance (ENDOR) spectra of undoped cis-rich (CH${)}_{\mathrm{x}}$ at low temperatures are consistent with the spin-density distribution soliton predicted for a finite on-site Coulomb energy. The ratio peak value negative spin density \ensuremath{\rho}(1) to that positive \ensuremath{\rho}(0) is determined be \ensuremath{\rho}(1)/\ensuremath{\rho}(0)\ensuremath{\sim}0.44 aid ENDOR-induced ESR measurements.
Abstract A non‐equilibrium atmospheric pressure plasma torch using argon (Ar) for sustaining has been developed, and it was used to deposit polymerized methyl methacrylate (PPMMA) films. The chemical structure composition of the films obtained were examined by FT‐IR XPS analyses. It found that, when raising concentration vaporized monomer a certain level into plasma, transitioned from filamentary glow‐like discharge, this resulting in high retention structure. Since optical emission...
