We present CoronaHiT, a platform and throughput flexible method for sequencing SARS-CoV-2 genomes (≤ 96 on MinION or > Illumina NextSeq) depending changing requirements experienced during the pandemic. CoronaHiT uses transposase-based library preparation of ARTIC PCR products. Method performance was demonstrated by 2 plates containing 95 59 nanopore platforms comparing to LoCost method. Of 154 samples sequenced using all 3 methods, ≥ 90% genome coverage obtained 64.3% LoCost, 71.4%...

The COVID-19 pandemic has spread rapidly throughout the world. In UK, initial peak was in April 2020; county of Norfolk (UK) and surrounding areas, which a stable, low-density population, over 3200 cases were reported between March August 2020. As part activities national Genomics Consortium (COG-UK) we undertook whole genome sequencing SARS-CoV-2 genomes present positive clinical samples from region. These collected by four major hospitals, multiple minor care facilities community...

Sepsis is one of the most important causes mortality in developed world, where almost two-thirds population suffer from obesity. Therefore, coexistence both conditions has become frequent clinical practice and a growing number studies attempts to examine potential effect obesity on sepsis with controversial results up now. The present study investigates how influences immune response septic patients, by assessing activation state adipose tissue macrophages, serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha...

Recreational drug use (RDU) has been reported to be disproportionately higher in men who have sex with (MSM) when compared their heterosexual counterparts. To identify RDU, links risky sexual practices and infections for MSM attending three health clinics across Manchester, United Kingdom, a retrospective case note review was conducted using random powered sample of service users sites during 2014. Three hundred fifty-seven notes were reviewed sites. Eighteen per cent any type RDU. Use at...

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has spread to almost every country in the world since it started China late 2019. Controlling requires a multifaceted approach including whole genome sequencing support public health interventions at local and national levels. One of most widely used methods for is ARTIC protocol, tiling PCR followed by Oxford Nanopore (ONT) up 96 samples time. There need, however, flexible, platform agnostic, method that can provide multiple throughput options depending on...

Background/introduction
Recreational drug use has been reported to be disproportionately higher in men who have sex with (MSM) when compared their heterosexual counterparts. There are indications that increased recreational may lead risky sexual behaviour. Patterns of subject spatial and temporal variations as such, regular assessment these changes is essential understanding service user
Aim(s)/objectives
To identify commonly used drugs, routes administration frequency for...
