The antioxidant activity of curcumin and β-carotene was studied as a method to control the oxidative process methyl soybean biodiesel during 180-day storage period. Initially, against radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) tested. Curcumin reduced concentration DPPH by 90% whereas it 15%. determined through both Rancimat Petro-OXY methods. Results obtained from two methods were consistent. They showed that increased induction period 83%, indicating potential use this on an industrial...

BIODIESEL FROM BABASSU (Orbignya sp.) SYNTHESIZED VIA ETHANOLIC ROUTE.Biodiesel was obtained by transesterification of babassu oil in anhydrous ethanol and methanol, employing NaOH as catalyst. The products were characterized physico-chemical thermogravimetric analysis. It could be concluded that the properties two types biodiesel (ethanolic methanolic) are very similar when compared with diesel oil.

This paper investigates the transesterification of babassu oil to biodiesel in a fixed-bed reactor using strontium oxide (SrO) as catalyst. Under room temperature, atmospheric pressure, and 100 g initial feeding, conversion reached almost 100% after 3 h 1.5 SrO. result shows promising commercially viable path produce biodiesel. In terms technical quality, it was found that reaction time is key issue rather than amount catalyst use. addition, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) method accurate...
