We reported on the synthesis of nanosized hydroxyapatite particles by wet chemical precipitation method and consolidation nanoparticles spark plasma sintering. studied effect temperature particle size phase composition obtained HAp. During beyond HAp, another supposedly nonstoichiometric HAp was also formed as a by-product that can be detected thermal analysis combined with XRD. Its amount gradually decreased increase in practically disappeared at 80 °C. Using this nanopowder for sintering,...
Abstract Detailed vibrational (IR, Raman, far-IR) and thermal (TGA, TG–MS, DSC) analysis has been performed on di[κ 1 O,κ 2 O-carbonatotetraamminecobalt(III)] sulfate trihydrate, ([Co(NH 3 ) 4 CO ] SO ·3H O ( ). Its isothermic heating at 100 °C leads to formation of [Co(NH (compound UV IR studies showed that the distorted octahedral arrangement around cis-O CoN core in compound does not change during dehydration, which explains reversible water loss ability rehydrate into . Compound...
Abstract Mulitlayer graphene reinforced silicon nitride composites were prepared by spark plasma sintering to investigate the effect of addition on mechanical properties. The contained multilayer (MLG) in various (0, 1, 3 and 5 wt%) content. Significantly higher fracture toughness 8.0 MPa m 1/2 was obtained at 1% MLG content, however, further increasing content did not increase, but dropped value monolithic nitride. maximum hardness 18.8 also MLG, while contents it gradually decreased.
A simple synthetic method was developed to prepare 4[Agpy2ClO4]·[Agpy4]ClO4 in a low-temperature decomposition process of [Agpy4]ClO4. detailed IR, Raman and far-IR study including factor group analysis has been performed, the assignation bands is given. The compound decomposes quickly with multistep ligand loss formation [Agpy2]ClO4 AgClO4 intermediates AgCl as an end product around ~ 85, 350 450 °C, respectively. During first step, small fraction ligands lost redox reaction: perchlorate...
Ikaite formation and its transformation to calcite occurs via distinct amorphous calcium carbonates (referred as I II) that differ in their morphology, particle size, water content stability.
Abstract Decomposition of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) was investigated in radiofrequency thermal plasma neutral, oxidative and reductive conditions. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) applied for the characterization column. OES used to identify active components such as excited atoms, ions, radicals molecules. The spectra were dominated by molecular C2, CN, OH, CH bands, atomic H, Ar, C, Cl O lines. Emission intensities main species monitored versus various experimental parameters....
Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that affects about 10% of the population. Metronidazole-containing ointments are typically recommended for daily treatment symptoms. For increasing bioavailability and effectiveness, it needed to reduce particle size. Therefore, micronized metronidazole was prepared by spray freeze-drying (SFD) method, then its most important features were examined such as morphology, crystallinity The anti-inflammatory effect as-prepared agent tested on mouse...
Metronidazole (MTZ) is a widely used drug, but due to its many side effects, there growing trend today use minimum dose while maintaining high efficacy. One way meet this demand reduce the size of drug particles. A relatively new method reduction attaching molecules mesoporous carrier. In paper, we studied fixation MTZ on silica carriers. The was immobilized two materials (Syloid, SBA-15) with variety immersion techniques and solvents. subjected physicochemical examinations (e.g., SEM, XPS,...
We prepared and characterized a high-t tetragonal polymorph of diamminesilver(I) sulfate (a = 8.6004(4) Å, c 6.2123(6) Å) (compound 1-HT). The phase transformation the low-temperature 1-LT) into high-temperature 1-HT) partly coincides with initial stage thermal decomposition 1-LT. Selecting appropriate conditions, we separated two processes determined standard heat formation LT (ΔH298 −1208.92 kJ/mol) enthalpy polymorphic (ΔHLT→HT 13.18 kJ/mol). XRD results showed that lattice constants...
Abstract Structural insights into the photoactivated adenylate cyclases can be used to develop new ways of controlling cellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels for optogenetic and other applications. In this work, we use an integrative approach that combines biophysical structural biology methods provide insight on interaction triphosphate (ATP) with dark-adapted state cyclase from cyanobacterium Oscillatoria acuminata (OaPAC). A moderate affinity nucleotide enzyme was...
Synthesis of zirconium carbide (ZrC) powder was investigated applying a non-conventional atmospheric radiofrequency (RF) thermal plasma process. In one case, dioxide (ZrO2) reacted with solid carbon or methane varying molar ratio. the other, zirconium-propoxide (NZP), containing both constituents, thermally decomposed in Ar plasma.
Temperature-dependent thermodynamic analysis performed 500-5500 K temperature range to estimate formation possible equilibrium products for each reaction...
Abstract Functionally graded materials (FGMs) attract considerable interest in science and industry, since their composition or morphology gradually changes along length, width, height, which provides new approach for the development of multifunctional materials. In this paper, we studied fabrication a gradient microstructure alumina (Al 2 O 3 ) by spark plasma sintering (SPS). During SPS process, applied asymmetric graphite tool configuration causes large temperature gradient, results...
We studied the fabrication of functionally graded Al2O3-CeO2-stabilized-ZrO2 (CTZ) ceramics by spark plasma sintering. The ceramic composite exhibits a gradual change in terms composition and porosity axial direction. gradient was created layering starting powders with different Al2O3 to CTZ ratios, whereas established large temperature difference, which induced an asymmetric graphite tool configuration during SEM investigations confirmed development from top toward bottom side Al2O3-CTZ...
The effect of metallic (Fe, Cu, Co, Ni, Ti) and non-metallic additives (Si, B) on the formation fullerenes from graphite powders was studied in radiofrequency (RF) thermal plasma. main component synthesized fullerene mixtures C60, but higher (C70, C82, C84) could be detected as well. Fe Cu increased content soot. In contrast, decreased presence Ti, Si, B compared to synthesis without additives. However, Ti addition enhanced fullerenes. We provide experimental evidence that decreasing reactor...
Abstract Spray freeze-drying (SFD) is an effective method for reducing the size of thermosensitive organic substances that are sparingly soluble in water. Despite advantages method, its use has not yet become widespread. We aimed at studying SFD technique metronidazole as a heat-sensitive active pharmaceutical ingredient particle and investigated morphological physical parameters modified drug. The obtained particles were crystalline all cases their sizes two one order magnitude smaller...
