Abstract Introduction Video urodynamics (UDS) has classically been performed using fluoroscopy (fluoro). Contrast enhanced voiding ultrasonography (ceVUS) rarely reported for use with UDS. This is the first study to compare imaging characteristics of ceVUS versus fluoro Methods Children were enrolled UDS who previously underwent Demographics, data and UDS, time between studies, clinical studies recorded. Changes in status included implantation/cessation catheterization or anticholinergic...
Incontinence and urgency are common after prostatectomy. The University of Virginia prostatectomy functional outcomes program (PFOP) was developed to comprehensively assess optimise continence following robotic-assisted laparoscopic (RALP). Patients prospectively evaluated by a Female Pelvic Medicine Reconstructive Surgery specialist. This study assessed for predictors 3- 6-month stress urinary incontinence (SUI) symptom RALP.
A fetus surviving a prenatal penetrating gunshot injury is rarely encountered. We report the case of 26-week pregnant mother shot in abdomen. Her uterine wound was missed at exploration, and when baby born 6 weeks later, bullet found superficial soft tissues his posterior neck. It removed without difficulty, baby, our youngest trauma patient ever, recovered sequelae.
Background: Although pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) is widely shown to improve post-prostatectomy incontinence (PPI), numerous barriers impede access formal PFMT and include the limited availability of specialized therapists financial or scheduling barriers. To address these barriers, we developed a novel online program delivering comprehensive long-term PFMT, education (PFE), dietary/behavioral modification education. This study prospective interim analysis PFMT/PFE (oPFMT/PFE), with...
Objective: The purpose of this study was to use a fluorescence imaging system (FIS) (SPYElite, NOVADAQ, US) during lower extremity amputations and develop parameters predict amputation healing, for which there are no proven, objective tests. We hypothesised that the FIS may identify areas poor perfusion at time potential healing complications. There studies involving used in amputation. Method: This prospective cohort involved patients requiring either below- or above-knee-amputation one,...
