The DIRAC experiment at CERN has achieved a sizeable production of $\pi^+\pi^-$ atoms and significantly improved the precision on its lifetime determination. From sample 21227 atomic pairs, 4% measurement S-wave $\pi\pi$ scattering length difference $|a_0-a_2| = (.0.2533^{+0.0080}_{-0.0078}|_\mathrm{stat}.{}^{+0.0078}_{-0.0073}|_\mathrm{syst})M_{\pi^+}^{-1}$ been attained, providing an important test Chiral Perturbation Theory.
The results of a search for hydrogen-like atoms consisting $\pi^{\mp}K^{\pm}$ mesons are presented. Evidence $\pi K$ atom production by 24 GeV/c protons from CERN PS interacting with nickel target has been seen in terms characteristic pairs their breakup the same ($178 \pm 49$) and Coulomb final state interaction ($653 42$). Using these analysis yields first value lifetime $\tau=(2.5_{-1.8}^{+3.0})$ fs model-independent measurement S-wave isospin-odd scattering length...
The observation of hydrogenlike πK atoms, consisting π^{-}K^{+} or π^{+}K^{-} mesons, is presented. atoms are produced by 24 GeV/c protons from the CERN PS accelerator, interacting with platinum nickel foil targets. breakup (ionization) in same targets yields characteristic pairs, called "atomic pairs," small relative momenta Q pair center-of-mass system. upgraded DIRAC experiment observed 349±62 such atomic corresponding to a signal 5.6 standard deviations. This first statistically...
After having announced the statistically significant observation (5.6~$\sigma$) of new exotic $\pi K$ atom, DIRAC experiment at CERN proton synchrotron presents measurement corresponding atom lifetime, based on full data sample: $\tau = (5.5^{+5.0}_{-2.8}) \cdot 10^{-15}s$. By means a precise relation ($<1\%$) between lifetime and scattering length, following value for S-wave isospin-odd length $a_0^{-}~=~\frac{1}{3}(a_{1/2}-a_{3/2})$ has been derived: $\left|a_0^-\right|...
The principal aim of the AEgIS experiment at CERN is to measure acceleration antihydrogen due Earth's gravitational field. This would be a test Weak Equivalence Principle, which states that all bodies fall with same independently their mass and composition. effect field on antimatter will determined by measuring deflection path from straight line. position found detecting its annihilation surface silicon detector. measurement in performed gravity module, includes detector, an emulsion...
In this work the Coulomb effects (Coulomb correlations) in $\pi^+\pi^-$ pairs produced p + Ni collisions at 24 GeV/$c$, are studied using experimental pair distributions $Q$, relative momentum center of mass system (c.m.s), and its projections $Q_L$ (longitudinal component) $Q_t$ (transverse to direction laboratory (l.s.). The $Q_L$, {\sl pairs} c.m.s. have been simulated assuming they described by phase space modified known point-like correlation function $A_C(Q)$, corrected for small due...

These proceedings give an overview of recent searches for additional low- and high-mass Higgs bosons, as well direct rare or exotic decays the 125 GeV boson, using proton–proton collision data at 13 TeV collected by ATLAS experiment in Run 2 LHC.
The adapted DIRAC experiment at the CERN PS accelerator observed for first time long-lived hydrogenlike π^{+}π^{-} atoms, produced by protons hitting a beryllium target. A part of these atoms crossed gap 96 mm between target and 2.1 μm thick platinum foil, in which most them dissociated. Analyzing number atomic pairs, n_{A}^{L}=436_{-61}^{+157}|_{tot}, lifetime 2p state is found to be τ_{2p}=(0.45_{-0.30}^{+1.08}|_{tot})×10^{-11} s, not contradicting corresponding QED...
A cyclotomic polynomial Φ n (x) is said to be ternary if = pqr, with p, q and r distinct odd primes. Let M(p, q) the maximum (in absolute value) coefficient appearing in family pqr p < r, fixed. Here a stronger version of main conjecture Gallot, Moree Wilms regarding established. Furthermore it shown that there an algorithm compute M(p): max {M(p, q): > p}. Our methods are most geometric used so far study polynomials.
The present note relies on the recently published conceptual design report of LHeC and extends first contribution to European strategy debate in emphasising role complement complete high luminosity LHC programme. brief discussion therefore focuses importance precision PDF $\alpha_s$ determinations for physics beyond Standard Model (GUTs, SUSY, Higgs). Emphasis is also given parton density phenomena nuclei their relevance heavy ion programme at LHC.
This proceedings presents the latest measurements of Higgs boson production cross sections times branching ratio in $H\rightarrow WW^{*}\rightarrow \ell\nu\ell\nu$ decay mode for three most dominant processes boson: gluon-gluon fusion, vector fusion and associated a boson. The are performed based on proton-proton collision data collected at $13 {TeV}$ by ATLAS detector. section ratios modes measured dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity $36.1 {fb}^{-1}$ found be...
The DIRAC experiment at CERN investigated in the reaction $\rm{p}(24~\rm{GeV}/c) + Ni$ particle pairs $K^+K^-, \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $p \bar{p}$ with relative momentum $Q$ pair system less than 100 MeV/c. Because of background influence studies, explored three subsamples $K^+K^-$ pairs, obtained by subtracting -- using time-of-flight (TOF) technique from initial distributions sample fractions more 70\%, 50\% 30\%. corresponding its longitudinal projection $Q_L$ were analyzed first a Coulomb...
