The authors have developed a method to produce microbeam of slow highly charged ions based on self-organized charge-up inside tapered glass capillary. A transmission 8keV Ar8+ beam through the capillary 5cm long with 800∕24μm inlet/outlet inner diameters was observed stably for more than 1200s. transmitted had same size as outlet density enhancement approximately 10 and divergence ±5mrad. initial guided tilted by large ±100mrad, it still kept incident charge.
We present here a cell surgery scheme involving selective inactivation or disruption of cellular structures. Energetic ions are injected into through tapered glass capillary like microinjection method. A slight but essential difference from is that thin window prepared at the outlet so no liquid material can flow in back while still allowing energetic to penetrate cell. An ∼MeV He ion beam such having 10μm diameter inactivated selected volume (∼μm3) fluorescent molecules located HeLa nucleus.

Slow radioactive ion beams have been produced with an overall efficiency of 4% by thermalizing energetic ions a projectile fragment separator in He-gas cell and guiding them to vacuum vessel dc rf fields. The ground state hyperfine splitting of (7)Be+ has been measured by laser-microwave double-resonance spectroscopy in the online rf trap RIKEN's slow RI-beam facility. Be ions produced projectile fragmentation 13C at approximately 1 GeV were thermalized a ion guide gas cell and subsequently laser cooled to microeV. This 10(15)-fold reduction kinetic energy allows precision these ions. A magnetic hfs constant A=-742.772 28(43) MHz was for 7Be+, from which nuclear moment mu(I)=-1.399 28(2)mu(N) deduced.
Helium cluster ions 4 He n + (2≤ ≤15) have been formed in a drift tube. Information about binding energy, Δ E = - -1 , has obtained. The energy drastically decreases at =4, then gradually with increasing . Steplike changes also observed between =10 and 11 =14 15, which indicates that the sizes 14 are magic numbers. This paper presents a new technique for synthesizing silver nanoparticles immobilized on textile fabrics using radiochemical process. In this process, the irradiation of high-energy electron beam an aqueous solution containing ions induces reducing reaction that forms metallic nanoparticles. Photoion spectrometry has been applied to determine the relative photoionization yields of Ba+ ions around 4d ionization threshold. A ground state ion beam was merged with monochromatized synchrotron radiation over a length 15 cm. Counting number doubly and triply charged produced in interaction region, we have obtained partial photoion as function photon energy.
