The mutation profile of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron (lineage BA.1) variant posed a concern for naturally acquired and vaccine-induced immunity. We investigated ability prior infection with an early ancestral isolate (Australia/VIC01/2020, VIC01) to protect against disease caused by BA.1. established that BA.1 in naïve Syrian hamsters resulted less severe than comparable dose virus, fewer clinical signs including weight loss. present data show these observations were almost absent convalescent...

Abstract The mutation profile of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant poses a concern for naturally acquired and vaccine-induced immunity. We investigated ability prior infection with an early SARS-CoV-2, 99.99% identical to Wuhan-Hu-1, protect against disease caused by variant. established that in naïve Syrian hamsters resulted less severe than comparable dose prototype (Australia/VIC01/2020), fewer clinical signs weight loss. present data show these observations were almost absent convalescent...

Type I interferon receptor knockout mice (strain A129) were assessed as a disease model of hantavirus infection. A range infection routes (intramuscular, intraperitoneal and intranasal) using minimally passaged Seoul virus Humber). Dissemination to the spleen, kidney lung was observed at 5 days after intramuscular challenge, which resolved by day 14. In contrast, intranasal challenge A129 demonstrated tropism lung, maintained 14 post-challenge. These data support use mouse for future studies...

Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) causes a zoonotic mosquito-borne haemorrhagic disease that emerges to produce rapid large-scale outbreaks in livestock within sub-Saharan Africa. A range of mosquito species Africa have been shown transmit RVFV, and recent studies assessed whether temperate are also capable transmission. In order support vector competence studies, the ability visualize localization cells tissue would enhance understanding infection process body. Here, application situ...
