A single prolactin sampling is recommended for the diagnosis of hyperprolactinemia. We aimed to study utility serial and determine best cut-offs associated with persistent hyperprolactinemia.Retrospective hyperprolactinemic patients [referral (rPRL)] that underwent samplings. Prolactin at 0 minutes (PRL0'), 20 30, 40 60 minutes. The lowest these last 2 was defined as nadir (nPRL). Persistent hyperprolactinemia nPRL above normal. excluded under dopamine receptor agonists. Receiver-operating...

Alpha-cell hyperplasia (ACH) is a rare pancreatic endocrine condition. Three types of ACH have been described: functional or nonglucagonoma hyperglucagonemic glucagonoma syndrome, reactive secondary to defective glucagon signaling, and non-functional. Few cases with concomitant neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) reported its etiology remains poorly understood. A case report non-functional glucagon-producing NET herein presented.
Hypermagnesemia predicts mortality in chronic heart failure (HF); however, acute HF, magnesium does not seem to be outcome-associated. Diabetes mellitus (DM) frequently associates with altered status. We hypothesized that DM might influence the prognostic impact of HF.This is a retrospective cohort study hospitalized patients HF. Patients without data on admission serum were excluded. Follow-up: 1 year from hospital admission. Primary end point: all-cause mortality. divided according median...
