Single crystals of gadolinium vanadate doped with neodymium ions have been grown by the Czochralski method. The absorption and luminescence spectra measured. near 0.8 μm is higher than 70 cm−1. lifetime 90 μs. Laser action has achieved on transitions 4F3/2 → 4I13/2, 4I11/2. differential efficiency lasing 1.06 54%.
AimsTo evaluate the efficacy of combining dual endothelin receptor antagonist, bosentan, and phosfodiesterase-5-inhibitor, sildenafil, in patients with Eisenmenger syndrome.
Wind power generation is to play an important role in supplying electric demand, and will certainly impact the design of future energy reserve markets. Operators wind plants consequently develop adequate offering strategies, accounting for market rules operational capabilities turbines, e.g., participate primary We consider two different strategies joint participation markets, based on idea proportional constant splitting potentially available from turbines. These aim at maximizing expected...
This study models the coincidence factor (CF) of electric vehicle (EV) charging given driving and plug-in behaviors by combining data sources from travel surveys recorded EV data. From these, we generate using a Monte Carlo approach to derive CFs. By varying battery size, rated power, behavior, their influence on CF is examined. The key results show that decreases less than 25% when considering more 50 EVs with level 11 kW, strongly depending number considered. contrast, behavior size have...
We report on efficient lasers emission of Er:LiYF(4) at 2.8 microm. The crystals were pumped by InGaAs semiconductor laser emitting near 970 nm. performance was investigated for different doping levels and yielded an optimum level ~15%. At this Er(3+) concentration we achieved a slope efficiency 35%, which is identical to the quantum defect. Pumping high power permits true cw output 1.1 W microm, interest several applications based strong water absorption in wavelength range.
We report on the spectroscopic properties and laser performance of Czochralski-grown LaSc/sub 3/(BO/sub 3/)/sub 4/ (LSB) crystals with high neodymium concentrations up to 2.5/spl middot/10/sup 21/ cm/sup -3/. The low-concentration quenching upper level polarization dependence spectra indicate that crystalizes in a huntite-type structure like Nd/sup 3+/:YAl/sub (NYAB). With diode pumping at 808 nm, multimode 3+/:LaSc/sub (NLSB) 1063 nm is demonstrated. Optical slope efficiency was 64% respect...
Laser action in a rare-earth doped chalcogenide glass was demonstrated for the first time, showing that this class of glasses is suitable active applications such as optical amplifiers and lasers. The neodymium-doped gallium lanthanum suiphide laser operated continuous wave at wavelength 1.08 µm when pumped with Ti:sapphire either 0.815 or 0.890 µm.
Future highly renewable energy systems will couple to complex weather and climate dynamics. This coupling is generally not captured in detail by the open models developed power system communities, where such exist. To enable modeling a future system, we describe dedicated large-scale dataset for electric system. The combines transmission network model, as well information generation demand. Generation includes conventional generators with their technical economic characteristics,...
Luminescence concentration quenching and upconversion have been quantitatively investigated in neodymium-doped LaSc3(BO3)4 (LSB) GdVO4 (GVO) laser crystals. The microparameter of cross relaxation (self-quenching) was determined Nd:GVO as 3.6×10-40 cm6/s. It is shown that, Nd:LSB, static, with the Cda=(0.5–1.1)×10-37 In Nd:GVO, migration accelerated, macroparameter α≈1.2×10-15 cm3/s. influence on operation discussed.
Smart energy solutions aim to modify and optimise the operation of existing infrastructure. Such cyber-physical technology must be mature before deployment actual infrastructure, competitive will have compliant standards still under development. Achieving this readiness harmonisation requires reproducible experiments appropriately realistic testing environments. testbeds for multi-domain are complex in themselves. This work addresses a method scoping design where both testbed solution each...
Laser operation at 2.8 microm in BaY(2)F(8) with erbium concentrations of 7.5% and 20% is investigated under laser-diode pumping 967 nm. Output powers as high 250 mW slope efficiencies 24% are obtained. Results comparable those Er(3+):LiYF(4) the same pump conditions. Slope above 30% predicted for optimized concentrations.
This paper presents an approach to extend the capabilities of smart grid laboratories through concept Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHiL) testing by re-purposing existing grid-forming converters. A simple and cost-effective power interface, paired with a remotely located Digital Real-time Simulator (DRTS), facilitates Geographically Distributed Hardware Loop (GD-PHiL) in quasi-static operating regime. In this study, DRTS simulator was interfaced via public internet ship-to-shore converter...
In contrast to existing frameworks for available transfer capacity (ATC) determination, we propose define ATCs in an integrated and data-driven manner, optimizing expected operational costs of the whole system derive cost-optimal ATCs. These are purely financial parameters, separated from physical based on security indices only typically used zonal electricity markets today. Determining requires viewing as endogenous market construct, leads naturally definition a entity whose responsibility...
Abstract Proliferation of wind power generation is increasingly making this source an important asset in designs energy and reserve markets. Intuitively, producers will require the development new offering strategies that maximize expected profit both markets while fulfilling market rules its operational limits. In paper, we implement exploit controllability proportional control strategy. This strategy allows splitting potentially available addition, take advantage better forecast...
A charged particle emits bremsstrahlung while traversing matter. We calculate the radiation cross section for bare heavy ions penetrating amorphous materials and single crystals at highly relativistic energies. The main component originates in scattering of virtual photons screened target nuclei on projectile. It appears at, approximately, $2\ensuremath{\gamma}$ times energy giant dipole resonance projectile, approximately 25$\ensuremath{\gamma}$ MeV a lead nucleus...
