We and others have previously demonstrated that the endothelium is a primary target of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), L-arginine has been shown to improve endothelial dysfunction. However, effects never evaluated in disease 2019 (COVID-19).This parallel-group, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial conducted on patients hospitalized for COVID-19. Patients received 1.66 g twice day or placebo, administered orally. The efficacy endpoint was reduction...

Most recent studies have stressed a high risk of thromboembolism in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection, particularly those severe COVID-19 pneumonia. Counterbalance between angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) and ACE2 activities disease may be crucially involved the thrombo-inflammatory process. Currently, no study has investigated ACE I/D polymorphism involvement complicated by pulmonary embolism, hence aim present pilot study. This is retrospective, single-center observational case-control...

Background: Home treatment of patients affected by COVID-19 is still a matter daily debate. During the clinical evolution disease, there are high risks lung failure, which requires oxygen therapy. Here, we report our experience with at-home using high-flow nasal cannula in non-hospitalised confirmed COVID-19.
