The X-ray polarization observations, made possible with the Imaging Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE), offer new ways of probing high-energy emission processes in astrophysical jets from blazars. Here, we report first observation blazar S4 0954+65 a high optical and state. During our multi-wavelength (MWL) campaign source, detected an flare whose peak coincided flare. This optical-X-ray most likely took place feature moving along parsec-scale jet, imaged at 43 GHz by Very Long Baseline Array...

Abstract We report the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) polarimetric and simultaneous multiwavelength observations of high-energy-peaked BL Lacertae object (HBL) 1ES 1959+650, performed in 2022 October 2023 August. In October, IXPE measured an average polarization degree Π X = 9.4% ± 1.6% electric-vector position angle ψ 53° 5°. The polarized emission can be decomposed into a constant component, plus rotating with rotation velocity ω EVPA (−117 12) deg day −1 . August, during period...

Most of the light from blazars, active galactic nuclei with jets magnetized plasma that point nearly along line sight, is produced by high-energy particles, up to $\sim 1$ TeV. Although are known be ultimately powered a supermassive black hole, how particles accelerated such high energies has been an unanswered question. The process must related magnetic field, which can probed observations polarization jets. Measurements radio optical - only range available until now probe extended regions...

We present multiwavelength polarization measurements of the luminous blazar Mrk~501 over a 14-month period. The 2--8 keV X-ray was measured with Imaging Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) six 100-ks observations spanning from 2022 March to 2023 April. Each IXPE observation accompanied by simultaneous data NuSTAR, Swift/XRT, and/or XMM-Newton. Complementary optical-infrared were also available in B, V, R, I, and J bands, as radio 4.85 GHz 225.5 GHz. Among first five observations, we did not find...

X-ray polarization is a unique new probe of the particle acceleration in astrophysical jets made possible through Imaging Polarimetry Explorer. Here we report on first dense monitoring campaign blazar Mrk 421. Our observations were accompanied by an even denser radio and optical campaign. We find significant short-timescale variability both degree angle, including $\sim90^\circ$ angle rotation about jet axis. attribute this to random variations magnetic field, consistent with presence...

Blazars are a class of jet-dominated active galactic nuclei with typical double-humped spectral energy distribution. It is common consensus the Synchrotron emission to be responsible for low frequency peak, while origin high hump still debated. The analysis X-rays and their polarization can provide valuable tool understand physical mechanisms high-energy blazars. We report first observations BL Lacertae performed Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer ({IXPE}), from which an upper limit degree...
