A method has been developed for the study of grain boundary migration in high purity aluminum, which allows positive determination direction movements. By means this it was confirmed that boundaries resulting from surface energy takes place toward centers curvature boundaries. On other hand, strain induced migration, such as occurs recrystallization, proceeds a away moving It also found certain strained grains serve nuclei strain-free same orientation grow at expense neighboring grains. Most...

The electronic specific heat coefficient was measured in the temperature range 1.4\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} to 4.2\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K for 48 solid solution alloys following binary systems: Ti-V, V-Cr, V-Fe, Cr-Mn, Cr-Fe, and Fe-Co. vs electron concentration curves show three quite well separated regions of high density states. first these occurs with atomic magnetic moments near zero. second one is found which have increasing concentration, up Fe+35% Co along...

Abstract Optical tweezers are tools made of light that enable contactless pushing, trapping, and manipulation objects, ranging from atoms to space sails. Since the pioneering work by Arthur Ashkin in 1970s, optical have evolved into sophisticated instruments been employed a broad range applications life sciences, physics, engineering. These include accurate force torque measurement at femtonewton level, microrheology complex fluids, single micro- nano-particle spectroscopy, single-cell...

Very small recrystallized grains of a large variety orientations were produced locally in lightly rolled high purity aluminum crystals. The rate growth these varied greatly, depending on their relative orientation with respect to the matrix crystal. Grains an corresponding [111] rotation about 40° showed by far highest growth. These results indicate that recrystallization textures developing spontaneous deformed single crystals can be accounted for dependence

On the assumption that in Ni-Cu alloys spin moment on a Ni atom depends local atomic environment, it was possible to find values for various configurations so as give average moments reasonable quantitative agreement with measured ferromagnetic composition range. The environment is specified by number of nearest neighbors and second-nearest neighbors. This model allows also consistent qualitative interpretation effect low-temperature annealing treatment plastic deformation.

The electronic specific heat coefficient, $\ensuremath{\gamma}$, of V and bcc Ti-V alloys was measured. A maximum $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ occurs at approximately 60 at.% V. coefficients were found to correlate quite well with the superconductive transition temperatures according Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory, an interaction coefficient $V$ independent composition. From exponential dependence in state on reciprocal temperature, energy gap 0.0014 0.0025 ev calculated, depending

The measured $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ for these alloys is, therefore, not representative of electronic specific heat. presence moments with Cu contents as high 0.6 atomic fraction may be concluded from known properties, well results. values Ni-Zn vary electron concentration manner analogous that observed alloys, although available...
