O objetivo deste estudo foi diagnosticar a presença de Toxoplasma gondii em um cavalo com sintomas neurológicos, através bioensaio camundongos. Fragmentos do cérebro foram seccionados e colocados individualmente tubos tipo Falcon estéreis 50 mL solução salina tamponada fosfato (PBS) contendo penicilina benzatina (1000 UI/mL) estreptomicina (100 mg/mL). Amostras testadas por camundongos na tentativa isolar o parasita ou DNA parasita. Todos os sobreviveram ao período experimental sacrificados...

Sixty were included study, all which had histopathological diagnosis MC-BMT divided into three groups: G1 (control), consisting animals submitted only or without regional metastasis; G2, composed treated that did not present G3,...
Maropitant is a neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptor antagonist that can be used for pain management. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect continuous infusion two doses maropitant on cardiorespiratory parameters and its postoperative analgesic in cats undergoing ovariohysterectomy. Thirty were randomly assigned one three groups (10 each group): control group (CG) received 10 ml/kg/h Ringer’s lactate; GM30 GM100 first an intravenous (IV) bolus 1 mg/kg maropitant; then 30 μ g/kg/h 100...
In order to verify the Trypanosoma cruzi infection in domestic domiciled dogs a rural endemic area from south region of State Bahia, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) were performed using S35 and S36 primers 272 living district Vila Operaria, municipality Buerarema. All animals clinically evaluated; 2.5 mL blood collected through venipuncture for performance molecular tests. None these showed clinical signs illness only two identified with DNA parasite. Sloths are xenarthrans from Central and South America with a highly adapted morphophysiology. Five of the six known species sloths found in Brazil, among which Bradypus torquatus (maned three-toed sloth) is considered vulnerable by International Union for Conservation Nature. Nevertheless, knowledge on health disease very scarce, thus this study aimed to describe macroscopic microscopic findings 36 Brazilian sloths. The most common included iron storage disorder, probable bacterial...
Abstract Background Multimodal analgesia consists of the combination analgesic drugs at low doses to act in different places along path pain. Studies with continuous infusion cats are not common. This study aimed evaluate effect maropitant, lidocaine and ketamine alone or (intravenous bolus + subsequent intravenous infusion) management acute postoperative pain undergoing ovariohysterectomy. Seventy healthy an ovariohysterectomy received a standard anesthetic protocol consisting acepromazine...
