Abstract Novelty and appropriateness are two fundamental components of creativity. However, the way in which novelty separated at behavioral neural levels remains poorly understood. In present study, we aim to distinguish bases creative idea generation. alignment with established theories thinking, respectively, emphasize semantic association executive control, results indicate that relies more on associative abilities, while functions. Next, employing a connectome predictive modeling (CPM)...

Observations suggest that γ-ray loud blazars are strongly beamed. The Fermi mission has detected many of blazars, which provide us with a good opportunity to investigate the emission mechanism and beaming effect in region. We compiled X-ray observations for 138 (54 flat spectrum radio quasars, 36 low-peaked BL Lacertae objects, 48 high-peaked objects) calculated their Doppler factors, δγ. It is interesting δγ, correlated luminosity.

The synergy and thought is well-established, but neural dynamics integration for creativity are understudied. Here, we extended traditional paradigm. Participants read, recalled narratives, wrote endings. Computational linguistic analysis showed that those integrating more noncentral events—those less semantically connected to other events within narrative—wrote original...

Summary We consider the problem of approximating smoothing spline estimators in a nonparametric regression model. When applied to sample size $n$, estimator can be expressed as linear combination $n$ basis functions, requiring $O(n^3)$ computational time when number $d$ predictors is two or more. Such sizeable cost hinders broad applicability splines. In practice, full-sample approximated by an based on $q$ randomly selected resulting $O(nq^2)$. It known that these converge at same rate...

Optical path length (OPL) noise resulting from stray light significantly constrains interferometry displacement measurements in the low-frequency band. This paper presents an analytical model considering presence of heterodyne laser interferometers. Due to cyclic nonlinear coupling effect, there will be some special OPLs light, minimizing frequency-mixing impact zero. Consequently, we propose a suppression scheme that locks OPL at zero point. Therefore, enhanced interference measurement...
