Recently, an increasing number of pharmacists had to supply medicinal products based on Cannabis sativa L. (Cannabaceae), prescribed by physicians individual patients. olive oil preparation is the first choice as a concentrated extract cannabinoids, even though standardized operative conditions for obtaining it are still not available. In this work, impact temperature and extraction time concentration active principles was studied harmonize different compounding methods, optimize process,...
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid isolated from Cannabis sativa which, given its claimed beneficial properties and therapeutic potential, has lately aroused considerable attention the scientific community. Starting little literature evidence, main purpose of this study was to investigate topical administration CBD, with particular focus on influence vehicle-related aspects skin permeation process. This could provide useful information for design suitable drug delivery...
The aim of this work is the development and production by Direct Powder Extrusion (DPE) 3D printing technique novel oral mucoadhesive films delivering Clobetasol propionate (CBS), useful in paediatric treatment Oral Lichen Planus (OLP), a rare chronic disease. DPE these dosage forms can allow reduction frequency regimen, therapy personalization, cavity administration discomfort. To obtain suitable films, different polymeric materials, namely hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or polyethylene oxide...
EMA and FDA are upgrading guidelines on assessing the quality equivalence of topically applied drug products for developing copies originator supporting post-marketing variations. For topical having remarkably similar composition, both accept bases comparison rheological properties in vitro release constant (k) skin permeation flux (J) values, instead clinical studies. This work aims to evaluate feasibility expand this approach variations composition complex semi-solid preparations....
This work aims to elucidate the mechanism by which N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) enhances skin permeation of a compound combining experimental data with molecular dynamic (MD) simulations. The addition 10% NMP significantly increased propranolol (PR) through human epidermis (∼15 μg/cm2 vs ∼30 μg/cm2) while resulting inefficacious on hydrocortisone (HC) diffusion. No significant alterations in stratum corneum structure were found after vitro treatment dispersed mineral oil or water attenuated...
The possible application of a hot-melt ram extrusion printing to the preparation diclofenac orodispersible films (ODF) made maltodextrin was studied focusing attention on effects taste-masking agents (i.e. namely mint, licorice-mint, and sucralose) an opacifier (titanium dioxide [TiO2]).This is proof-of-concept feasibility print ODF loaded with thermosensitive drug substance by technologies.Diclofenac sodium (DNa) (dextrose equivalent (DE) = 6 ) plasticized glycerol were prepared printing....
The feasibility to use gellan nanohydrogels (Ge-NHs) as delivery system for the cutaneous administration of piroxicam (PRX) was investigated using conjugated with cholesterol or riboflavin. in vitro skin penetration studies through human epidermis were performed a saturated aqueous drug solution, 50% w/v Transcutol and commercially available PRX plaster controls. Confocal microscopy, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, circular dichroism, dynamometer assisted extrusion assay clarify permeation mechanism...
This work aimed to provide useful information on the incidence of choice formulation in semi-solid preparations iron-oxide nanoparticles (IONs). The appropriate analytical methods assess IONs physical stability and effect human skin penetration were discussed. (Dh = 31 ± 4 nm; ζ -65 5 mV) loaded five (0.3% w/v), namely Carbopol gel (CP), hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), cetomacrogol cream (Cet) cold was assessed by combining DLS low-field pulsed NMR data. vitro...
