Purpose This study aimed to investigate in-patient mortality and predictors of death associated with convulsive status epilepticus (CSE) in a large nationwide cohort create simplified predictive score for in-hospital mortality. Methods Retrospective data from the National Inpatient Sample (NIS) database between 2007 2014 were analyzed, including 123,082 adults CSE. Univariate logistic testing identified admission variables, neurological medical complications A clinical prediction score,...

Background Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare but serious complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI), yet the implications this association remain poorly understood. This study explores demographics, risk factors, and clinical outcomes patients with both TBI CVT (CVT-TBI). Methods The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) was queried from 2016–2020 for adult primary diagnosis concurrent CVT. Chi-squared tests logistic regression were used to compare demographic, clinical, outcome...

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) carries significant morbidity and mortality. Previous single-center retrospective analysis suggests that end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is a risk factor for severe ICH worse outcomes. This investigation aims to examine the impact of ESRD on severity, complications, outcomes using multicenter national database. The International Classification Disease, Ninth Tenth Revision Clinical Modification codes were used query National Inpatient Sample patients with between...

Little is known about placental drug transfer and fetal pharmacokinetics despite increasing use in pregnant women. While physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models can help some cases to shed light on this knowledge gap, adequate parameterization of remains challenging. A novel silico model with seven compartments representing the ex vivo cotyledon perfusion assay was developed used describe acetaminophen. Unknown parameters were optimized using observed data. Thereafter, values...

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the second most common type of stroke, accounting for approximately 10–20% all strokes, and linked to severe neurological disability death. Since accurate predictor outcome in patients with ICH hematoma volume, there a great need pharmacologic therapy that can reduce expansion resultant mass effect edema. This especially critical within ultra-early window 3–4 hours after presentation. Hemostatic therapies are exceptionally important those taking antiplatelet...

The objective of this study was to investigate the prognostic significance chronic antiplatelet therapy (APT) usage in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) treated with endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). Long-term APT may enhance recanalization but also predispose patients an increased risk hemorrhagic transformation.Weighted hospitalizations for anterior-circulation AIS EVT were identified a large United States claims-based registry.
