Although the impacts of ocean acidification and warming on marine organisms have been increasingly documented, little is known about affecting mechanism underpinning their interactive physiological processes such as metabolism. Therefore, effects these two stressors metabolism were investigated in thick-shell mussel Mytilus coruscus this study. In addition, because primarily regulated by circadian rhythm neurotransmitters, regulatory also analyzed. The data obtained demonstrated that mussels...
Background Blood clams (Tegillarca granosa) are one of the most commercial shellfish in China and South Asia with wide distribution Indo-Pacific tropical to temperate estuaries. However, recent data indicate a decline germplasm this species. Furthermore, molecular mechanisms underpinning reproductive regulation remain unclear information regarding genetic diversity is limited. Understanding biology important interpreting their embryology development, reproduction population structure....
To address the problem of polyspermy during artificial breeding practices commercial free-spawning marine bivalve species, a greater understanding mechanisms behind blocking is required. Therefore, we investigated roles calcium ion (Ca2+) channel and calmodulin (CaM) in fast electrical Tegillarca granosa, using specific inhibitors verapamil hydrochloride N-(6-aminohexyl)-5-chloro-1-naphthalenesulfonamide (W-7). The impacts Ca2+-channel CaM inhibition on rates oocyte membrane potential were...
Introduction In the context of Litopenaeus vannamei aquaculture, incorporation oyster shells has proven beneficial for enhancing water quality and growth conditions shrimp. Nonetheless, specific effects in-situ treatment using on shrimp growth, along with composition succession dynamics microbial community within shell biofilms, have yet to be thoroughly investigated. Methods This study established control, low-concentration, high-concentration addition groups emulate environment shells,...

A genetic linkage map of the blood clam (Tegillarca granosa) was constructed based on simple sequence repeat (SSR) and amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers. An F1 family consisting 109 individuals created using "two-way pseudo-testcross" mapping strategy. total 568 polymorphic markers, including 32 SSRs 534 AFLPs, were used in mapping. The female consisted 250 marker loci (15 SSR 255 AFLP), which formed 18 groups with an average space 7.15 cM; they spanned a 1,649.33 cM,...

The blood clam (Tegillarca granosa) is an economically important marine shellfish in the southeast coastal area of China. In T. granosa breeding practice, growth-related traits are most phenotypic selection index. order to increase efficiency, we used a previously published genetic linkage map quantitative trait loci (QTL) for single full sibling F1 family. Eight including shell length (SL), height (SH), width (SW), weight (Swi), umbo (SUW), as well outer ligament (OLL), meat (MW) and total...
