Spontaneous regression of hepatocellular carcinoma is a rare phenomenon. Abscopal tumours resulting from the effect irradiation tissue on remote non-irradiated also rare. The case 76 year old Japanese man with that regressed after radiotherapy for thoracic vertebral bone metastasis described. Serum levels tumour necrosis factor-α increased radiotherapy. findings suggests such abscopal related may be associated host immune response, involving cytokines as factor-α.
To characterize the adhesion molecule of Lactobacillus plantarum LA 318 that shows high to human colonic mucin (HCM).The test used BIACORE assay where PBS-washed bacterial cells showed a significant decrease in adherence HCM than distilled water-washed cells. A component PBS wash fraction adhered and main protein was detected as c. 40-kDa band using SDS-PAGE. Using homology comparisons N-terminal amino acid sequences compared with sequence databases, this identified...
A technique to deposit films compatible with lift-off patterning techniques and hole filling has been developed for large magnetron sputter deposition systems. This allows the patterned of Cu films, as well other relevant metal or alloy systems, using conventional lithography techniques. To overcome gas scattering effects which are prevalent in normal range operation would prohibit a photoresist mask by coating sides mask, hollow cathode electron source implemented near (i.e., sputtering) at...
Reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as hydroxyl and superoxide anion radicals, are highly reactive molecules derived from the metabolism of oxygen. ROS play positive roles in cell physiology, but they may also damage membranes DNA, inducing oxidation that causes membrane lipid peroxidation decreases fluidity. Soymilk yogurt, which is soymilk fermented using lactic acid bacteria (LAB), an excellent food item with numerous functional substances antioxidant effects. In this study, antioxidative...

Abstract: Aims/Background: Autoimmune cholangitis/cholangiopathy (AIC) is an enigmatic disease marked by chronic cholangitis, antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and sero-negativity for conventionally detected anti-mitochondrial (AMA). We examined whether AIC a distinct entity, AMA-negative variant of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), or cholangiopathic autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) comparing the clinical, laboratory autoantibody profiles 21 cases AIC, 37 PBC 16 AIH from selected Japanese patients....
Abstract Palladium-catalyzed mono- and bis(alkoxycarbonylation)s of olefins were controlled by the use copper(II) copper(1) chloride, respectively, in alcohol under normal pressure carbon monoxide oxygen at room temperature without any other additives. 3-Buten-1-ols gave corresponding γ-butyrolactones 2-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-acetic acid esters, high yields.
Abstract 1- or 2-p-Tolylsulfonyl(=tosyl)-1-alkenes, vinylic sulfones, were regioselectively prepared from 1-alkenes via iodosulfonization sulfonylmercuration and also 1-haloalkanes by the homologation unhomologation methods. The sulfones thus further converted to corresponding allylic under basic conditions. stereochemistry of this conversion was discussed. One-carbon homologated directly obtained aldehydes in good yields reaction with diethyl phenylsulfonylmethylphosphonate...
Phytochromes are photoreceptors with a bilin chromophore in which light triggers the conversion between red-absorbing form Pr and far-red-absorbing Pfr. Agrobacterium tumefaciens has two phytochromes, Agp1 Agp2, antagonistic properties: darkness, converts slowly from Pfr to Pr, whereas Agp2 In previous study, we have assembled synthetic locked chromophores 15Za, 15Zs, 15Ea, 15Es C15=C16 double bond is fixed either E or Z configuration C14–C15 single syn (s) anti (a) conformation. present 5Za...
To isolate lactobacilli from the mucus layer of human intestine and evaluate their adhesion abilities using a BIACORE assay.Thirty strains were isolated normal intestinal tissues conventional plate culture. The identified homology comparisons 16S rDNA sequence to databases as Lactobacillus salivarius (26%), fermentum (13%), gasseri (10%), paracasei (7%), casei (3%), mucosae (3%) plantarum (3%). LA 318 shows highest colonic mucin (HCM) assay at 115.30 +/- 12.37 resonance unit (RU). cell wall...
The adhesion of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) to the intestinal mucosa is one criteria in selecting for probiotics. Eighteen LAB were isolated from porcine mucin (PIM): ten strains Lactobacillus, six Weissella, and two Streptococcus. Using sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) extracts LAB, many bands detected half samples, while a few and/or no clear other half. All selected showed PIM. L. johnsonii MYU 214 221 at more than 10%. W....
Phytochromes are an important class of chromoproteins that regulate many cellular and developmental responses to light in plants. The model plant species Arabidopsis thaliana possesses five phytochromes, which mediate distinct overlapping light. Photobiological analyses have established that, under continuous irradiation, phytochrome A is primarily responsible for plant's sensitivity far-red light, whereas the other phytochromes respond mainly red present study reports depends on structure...
The Kampo formula keishibukuryogan (KBG, Guizhifulingwan) is frequently used in traditional Japanese and Chinese medicine to treat several symptoms manifests anti-inflammatory scavenging effects. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) a common manifestation of the metabolic syndrome has potential evolve cirrhosis through chronic inflammation steatohepatisis (NASH). We have recently reported KBG significant effectiveness on injury NASH animal model that prompted us prescribe (TJ-25)....
The natural chromophore of most bacterial and fungal phytochromes is biliverdin (BV), which incorporated in a covalent manner into the protein. Upon photoconversion between red light-absorbing form Pr far-red Pfr, stereochemistry around C15 methine bridge changes from Z anti to E anti. Recombinant Agp1 Agp2 Agrobacterium tumefaciens were assembled with set synthetic chromophores, including 2,18-Et-BV, 3,18-Et-BV, doubly locked 5Ea15Ea-BV, 5Es15Ea-BV, 5Za15Ea-BV, 5Zs15Ea-BV.
