Spontaneous regression of hepatocellular carcinoma is a rare phenomenon. Abscopal tumours resulting from the effect irradiation tissue on remote non-irradiated also rare. The case 76 year old Japanese man with that regressed after radiotherapy for thoracic vertebral bone metastasis described. Serum levels tumour necrosis factor-α increased radiotherapy. findings suggests such abscopal related may be associated host immune response, involving cytokines as factor-α.

To characterize the adhesion molecule of Lactobacillus plantarum LA 318 that shows high to human colonic mucin (HCM).The test used BIACORE assay where PBS-washed bacterial cells showed a significant decrease in adherence HCM than distilled water-washed cells. A component PBS wash fraction adhered and main protein was detected as c. 40-kDa band using SDS-PAGE. Using homology comparisons N-terminal amino acid sequences compared with sequence databases, this identified...

A technique to deposit films compatible with lift-off patterning techniques and hole filling has been developed for large magnetron sputter deposition systems. This allows the patterned of Cu films, as well other relevant metal or alloy systems, using conventional lithography techniques. To overcome gas scattering effects which are prevalent in normal range operation would prohibit a photoresist mask by coating sides mask, hollow cathode electron source implemented near (i.e., sputtering) at...

Abstract 1- or 2-p-Tolylsulfonyl(=tosyl)-1-alkenes, vinylic sulfones, were regioselectively prepared from 1-alkenes via iodosulfonization sulfonylmercuration and also 1-haloalkanes by the homologation unhomologation methods. The sulfones thus further converted to corresponding allylic under basic conditions. stereochemistry of this conversion was discussed.
