Breast conserving therapy (BCT) including postoperative irradiation of the remaining breast tissue is generally accepted as best treatment for majority patients with early-stage cancer. The question whether there a necessity irradiating all patients. Between 2001 and 2005, 749 women aged 55–75 years infiltrating carcinoma were randomly assigned to conservative surgery, or without radiotherapy (RT), evaluate incidence in-breast recurrence (IBR).After 5 median follow-up, cumulative IBR was...

[Purpose] The aims of this study were to verify the effects on upper limb circumferences and total body extracellular water 10 weeks Nordic Walking (NW) (W), both alone combined with a series exercises created for breast cancer survivors, ISA method. [Subjects Methods] Twenty survivors randomly assigned 4 different training groups evaluated circumferences, water. [Results] who performed NW, method, method (but not alone) showed significantly reduced arm forearm homolateral surgical...

A cytogenetic study on 25 breast fibroadenomas from 17 women is reported. Seven tumors in five patients showed clonal structural chromosome changes. In three the breaks involved 12, occurring two band 12p12 and 12q15 all of one patient. The finding an identical aberration, t(11;12)(q21;q15), adenomas same patient strongly suggests a origin multiple breast.

BackgroundAdherence to adjuvant endocrine therapy (HT) is suboptimal among breast cancer patients. A high rate of nonadherence might explain differences in survival between clinical trial and practice. Tailored interventions aimed at improving adherence can only be implemented if subgroups patients higher risk poor are identified. Because no data available for Italy, we undertook a large survey on women taking HT cancer.Patients MethodsPatients were recruited from 10 clinics central Italy....

Breast cancer (BC) and cardiovascular (CV) disease share many risk factors associated with worse outcomes, in terms of relapse, CV events, quality life (QoL), that could be counteracted by physical exercise (PE). We aimed to assess the impact a 12-week differential PE protocol on cardiometabolic profile, QoL, CV- BC-related long-term activity (PA) cohort BC survivors (BCS) not treated chemotherapy. 57 BCS participated [aerobic training (AET) or resistance (RET)]. Anthropometric evaluation,...

The aim of this study is to evaluate the long-term outcome patients with locally advanced breast cancer treated neoadjuvant systemic chemotherapy (NST) in routine clinical practice.Four hundred and nine were identified between January 1999 December 2011. All received NST followed by surgery, adjuvant treatments radiotherapy, as appropriate. At Kaplan-Meier analysis, surgical stage III disease more likely develop distant metastasis die from (p < 0.001). The negative side effects of breast cancer treatments can include upper limb lymphoedema. growing literature indicates that Nordic walking is an effective discipline against several disease symptoms. aim this study was to determine whether introduction alone total body extracellular water and circumferences in survivors compared its combination with a series specifically created exercises (i.e. the Isa method).16 (49.09 ± 2.24 years) were recruited randomly assigned 1 2 different training...
