The BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine showed high efficacy in clinical trials but observational data from populations not included are needed. We describe immunogenicity 21 days post-dose 1 among 514 Israeli healthcare workers by age, ethnicity, sex and prior infection. Immunogenicity was similar ethnicity decreased with age. Those infection had antibody titres one magnitude order higher than naïve individuals regardless of the presence detectable IgG antibodies pre-vaccination.
Abstract The effectiveness of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines against the long-term COVID-19 symptoms expressed by a substantial proportion patients is not well understood. We determined whether vaccination with BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine was associated incidence reporting post-SARS-CoV-2 infection. invited individuals PCR-tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection at participating hospitals between March 2020 and November 2021 to fill an online questionnaire that included information about...
Abstract Background Long COVID is a post-severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection characterised by not recovering for several weeks or months following the episode. The effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines against long-term symptoms well understood. We determined whether vaccination was associated with incidence reporting post-SARS-CoV-2 Methods invited individuals who were PCR tested SARS-CoV-2 at participating hospitals between March 2020-November 2021 to fill...
Abstract: This report presents a healthy 2.5-year-old child exhibiting headache, ptosis, exotropia, and left mydriasis. Initial neuroimaging, including computed tomography (CT), angiography (CTA), standardized magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), failed to identify any lesions; however, high-resolution MRI revealed an ovoid mass adjacent the proximal oculomotor nerve within superior cavernous sinus. case underscores necessity for advanced techniques thorough diagnostic approach enhance...
Background/Objectives: Previously undiagnosed atrial fibrillation (PUAF) is a significant cause of embolic stroke undetermined source (ESUS). This study aimed to determine whether early heart rhythm monitoring with Holter ECG after acute enhances the detection PUAF compared standard ambulatory in ESUS patients, assuming that cardiac would lead higher rate PUAF. Methods: cohort included 100 patients aged 50 and older diagnosed exhibiting sinus for at least 24 h. All participants were...
Abstract: PURPOSE: The purpose of the study was to compare two antivascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents (aflibercept and ranibizumab) with a corticosteroid implant (Ozurdex), administered as intravitreal injections patients persistent diabetic macular edema (DME) not responding bevacizumab. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted retrospective 60 comprising men women aged 18 above who suffered from DME showing suboptimal response after three bevacizumab were referred...
Migraine is among the 10 most disabling disorders worldwide. It characterized by episodes of moderate or severe headaches with various degree disability, resulting in a considerable health burden upon sufferers and their family. The objective this article to review use prophylaxis antiepileptic drugs. Particular focus given mechanism action, metabolism, pharmacokinetics, safety profile, efficacy provide summary relevant clinical studies patient preference.
We determined circulating anti-S severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody titers in a vaccinated healthcare workers (HCWs) cohort from Northern Israel the 11 months following primary vaccination according to age, ethnicity, and previous infection status.
A previously healthy 35-year-old man suffering from behavioral and mental deterioration for three months was referred to our facility. On admission, the patient dysphasic had tonic-clonic seizures. Neurological examination showed confusion, euphoric mood, mania, paranoia, mild motor dysphasia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) performed twice but no abnormalities were revealed. His acute confusional state, elevated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) protein, epileptic seizure electroencephalogram...
(1) Background: Multiple acute concomitant cerebral infarcts (MACCI) are relatively uncommon. Data regarding the characteristics and outcomes of patients with MACCI lacking. We, therefore, aimed to characterize clinical features MACCI. (2) Methods: Patients were identified from a prospective registry stroke admitted tertiary teaching center. an single embolic (ASES) involving only one vascular bed served as controls. (3) Results: was diagnosed in 103 who compared 150 ASES. significantly...
SARS-CoV-2 remains a global health concern 3 years after its emergence. Safe and effective vaccines mitigate the pandemic impact, but optimal schedule unclear, especially in context where high proportion of population is infected. We periodically measured anti-spike immunoglobulin (Ig)G titers using quantitative assay an Israeli healthcare worker cohort who all received at least two BNT162b2 doses either further and/or were subsequently infected up to 22 months dose two, compared geometric...

There are different diagnostic modalities to investigate atherosclerosis cervical artery disease in suspected stroke patients. We aimed test the concordance of findings two most widely used patients: duplex ultrasound (DUS) and computerized tomographic angiography (CTA). A total 100 patients were retrospectively included study, all them had DUS followed by CTA. Discrepancies compared CTA results both internal carotid vertebral arteries found 44% The with significant differences characterized...
Between December 2020 and March 2021, we measured anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG titres among 725 Israeli hospital workers vaccinated against COVID-19. Infection post-dose 1 vaccination did not increase titres, individuals infected had levels comparable to never-infected who received a single dose, lower than fully vaccinated, individuals. This suggests dose 2, currently offered those 1, may be required in these Larger studies should confirm whether need the second.
A 66 year old woman suffering from recurrent attacks of neuropathic burning pain over the past 6 years, affecting first sacral region and then progressively different locations on face, was referred to our facility. She had severe paraparesis signs brainstem dysfunction leading respiratory failures. After an extensive investigation including brain spinal cord MRI laboratory findings, such as positive test for aquaporin-4 immunoglobulin G antibodies (AQP4-IgG), patient found suffer...
(1) Background: The mechanism responsible for stroke in patients younger than 50 often remains unknown. This study was designed to assess whether high-resolution intracranial vessel wall MR imaging (icVWI) may be instrumental determining cause. (2) Methods: Young with and without an identified cause of despite exhaustive investigation were prospectively included. Patients who underwent icVWI compared those did not. We next vulnerable plaques on icVWI. (3) Results: Overall, 47 young over the...
