Abstract A calcified amorphous tumor (CAT) of the heart is a rare, non-neoplastic, intracavitary cardiac mass. Histological examination reveals presence and fibrous material with underlying chronic inflammation. Some studies have reported that CAT typically exhibits rapid growth. However, we observed case in which unexpectedly ruptured within approximately two weeks. There was no cerebral infarction or significant valvular disease, therefore were not sure about indication for surgery;...

Coronary artery fistulas (CAFs) are rare coronary anomalies. Among these, artery-pulmonary can lead to myocardial ischemia through mechanisms such as steal, stenosis, and vasospasm. We report a case of 73-year-old male presenting with fistula 75% stenosis the right artery. Despite negative findings for on scintigraphy absence ST changes resting electrocardiogram (ECG), steal syndrome was suspected following an exercise ECG that revealed diffuse depression. Surgical intervention close...

Neuron-specific enolase (NSE) is one of the biomarkers used as an indicator brain disorder, but since it also found in blood cell components, there a concern that spurious increase NSE may occur after cardiovascular surgery, where cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) causes hemolysis. In present study, we investigated relationship between degree hemolysis and surgery usefulness immediate postoperative values diagnosis disorder. The low patency of synthetic vascular grafts hinders their practical applicability. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a non-toxic, highly hydrophilic polymer; thus, we created PVA-coated polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofiber graft (PVA-PCL graft). In this study, examine whether PVA could improve the hydrophilicity PCL and evaluate its in vivo performance using rat aorta implantation model. A with an inner diameter 1 mm electrospinning (control). nanofibers are coated PVA, resulting PVA-PCL graft....

The leukemoid reaction (LR) is reported to be caused by severe stress conditions such as infection, malignancies, intoxication, hemorrhage, or acute hemolysis; this condition attributed a very prognosis. Some reports have suggested that the LR was associated with systemic response. A 36-year-old man who required mechanical circulatory support (MCS), including veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and Impella 5.5 due heart failure, transferred our hospital. He showed markedly...

Abstract Nonbacterial thrombotic endocarditis (NBTE) on the aortic valve involves fibrin and platelet aggregate formation, potentially leading to embolic events. We present a case of NBTE following coronary angiography (CAG) in 54-year-old man with multiple comorbidities. Surgical thrombectomy was performed owing acute cerebral infarcts. This highlights significance considering that mechanical trauma from catheterization during CAG can trigger thrombus formation.

Abstract This case report details the management of a 79-year-old man who developed massive postoperative pneumothorax following redo coronary artery bypass grafting due to severe lung adhesions. We successfully treated patient using veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation without femoral cannulation, allowing for early rehabilitation initiation. Veno-venous is reasonable option cases respiratory failure with destruction caused by re-sternotomy during re-do cardiac surgery.

Abstract Isolated left vertebral artery (ILVA) is one of the most frequent abnormalities.
