A new layered aluminoborate [Zn(dien)2][{Al(OH)}{B5O9F}] (1, en = diethylenetriamine) with an acentric structure has been yielded under solvothermal conditions. In 1, the AlO3(OH) tetrahedra and B5O9F clusters interconnect to form a layer of [{Al(OH)}{B5O9F}]2− 7-MR helical channels. 1 exhibits weak SHG properties luminescence emission at 450 nm.
