Oxidation of LDL by the myeloperoxidase (MPO)-H2O2-chloride system is a key event in development atherosclerosis. The present study aimed at investigating interaction MPO with native and modified revealing posttranslational modifications on apoB-100 (the unique apolipoprotein LDL) vitro vivo. Using amperometry, we demonstrate that activity increases up to 90% when it adsorbed surface LDL. This phenomenon apparently reflected local structural changes observed circular dichroism. MS, further...

Protein carbamylation by cyanate is a post-translational modification associated with several (patho)physiological conditions, including cardiovascular disorders. However, the biochemical pathways leading to protein are incompletely characterized. This work demonstrates that heme myeloperoxidase (MPO), which secreted at high concentrations inflammatory sites from stimulated neutrophils and monocytes, able catalyze two-electron oxidation of cyanide promote taurine, lysine, low-density...

Crystal-melt suspensions (CMSs) are yield stress shear thinning fluids in which crystal network formation is responsible for the appearance of a stress. This study investigates influence concentration and morphology on CMSs made from palm kernel oil (PKO) aims to understand gas bubble stabilization such systems. Crystallization laminar flow depends shear; thus, different rates were applied produce PKO CMSs. With increasing rate, higher at constant content was found. behavior expected...

The ability of 6(5H)-phenanthridinone (Phen), a new potent poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase (PARP) inhibitor, to potentiate the effect ionizing radiation on tumour cells was evaluated. RDM4 murine lymphoma were irradiated using 60Co panoramic source and then examined for their growth, cell cycle distribution apoptosis. Phen (100 microM) found inhibit more than 90% PARP activity in control cells. Cell proliferation assessed Alamar Blue, fluorometric assay. sharply increase radiation-induced...

The rheology of βV/VI cocoa butter crystal melt suspensions (CB CMS) was investigated directly after crystallization using in-line capillary rheometry (UVP-PD) as well tempering at zero deformation off-line (CR) and rotational (RR). CB CMS thixotropy quantified by RR revealing that structure build up processes were not equilibrium 18 h, whereas decay occurred mainly in the first 10 s measurement γ˙ = 60 s−1. CR UVP-PD identified preferable methods to probe thixotropic materials due short...

The dispersing characteristics of antral contraction wave (ACW) flow in the antrum are investigated by reproducing generated an ACW and determining its effect on liquid drops. goal is to gain information about field mechanical stresses, which responsible for food disintegration. Toward this end, a model prototype was constructed, consisting cylinder that closed at one end represent pylorus. A moving hollow piston with parabolic inner contour used ACW. computational developed reflects...

Photoactive ruthenium-based complexes are actively studied for their biological applications as potential theragnostic agents against cancer. One major issue of these inorganic is to penetrate inside cells in order fulfil function, either sensing the internal cell environment or exert a photocytotoxic activity. The use lipophilic ligands allows corresponding ruthenium passively diffuse but limits structural and photophysical properties. Moreover, this strategy does not provide any...
