臭化 p-置換フェナシルジメチルスルポニウムに塩基性物質を作用させて, 各種のジメチルスルホニウム p-置換フェナシリドを合成し, その性質を明らかにした。ジメチルスルホキシドおよびテトラメチレンスルホキシドと1,3-インダンジオンとの反応により, 直接相当するスルホニウム-1,3-インダンジオニリドを合成しうることを見いだした。ジメチルスルホニウムフェナシリドに臭素を作用させてえられる臭化ジメチル-α-プロムフェニナシルスルホニウムから, ジメチルスルホニウムα-プロムフェナシリドがえられることを明らかにした。ジメチルスルホニウムフェナシリドおよびメチルフェニルスルポニウムフェナシリドとジアゾユウム塩とのカップリング反応によって新しい形のアゾ化合物が生成することを見いだした。またトリフェニルホスホニウムフェナシリドもジアゾユウム塩とカップリング反応によってアゾ化合物を生成することを認めた。スルホニウムフユナシダドを触媒とするテトラリソおよびクメンの液相酸素酸化を行なったところ, かなりの量の酸素吸収が認められたので,スルホニウムイリドの種類と触媒作用との関係についても検討を加えた。
