Possible non-target effects of the widely used, non-selective herbicide glyphosate were examined in six cyanobacterial strains, and basis their resistance was investigated. All cyanobacteria showed a remarkable tolerance to up millimolar levels. Two them found possess an insensitive form target, shikimate pathway enzyme 5-enol-pyruvyl-shikimate-3-phosphate synthase. Four strains able use phosphonate as only phosphorus source. Low uptake rates measured under deprivation. Experimental evidence...

The aim of this research was to screen plant growth biostimulant properties supercritical CO2 macroalgal extracts. To end secondary metabolites were isolated from the biomass marine macroalgae Baltic Sea (species Polysiphonia, Ulva and Cladophora). Chemical characteristics algal extracts determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy for inorganic constituents high-performance liquid chromatography spectrophotometry organic constituents. Inorganic (macro-...

The paper discusses the potential applicability of process supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) in production algal extracts with consideration conditions and yields. State art research on solvent-free isolation biologically active compounds from biomass algae was presented. Various aspects related properties useful found cells microalgae macroalgae were discussed, including their applications as natural components plant protection products (biostimulants bioregulators), dietary feed food...

Carrot seed oil is the source of carotane sesquiterpenes carotol, daucol and β-caryophyllene. These sesquiterpenic allelochemicals were evaluated against Alternaria alternata isolated from surface carrot seeds cultivar Perfekcja, a variety widely distributed in horticultural practise Poland. one most popular phytotoxic fungi infesting plant. The strongest antifungal activity was observed for main constituent oil, which inhibited radial growth by 65% at following concentration.

The usefulness of glyphosate [N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine] as a source nutritive phosphorus for species halophilic cyanobacteria has been postulated years. Our results indicate stimulating effect on the growth four out five examined freshwater species, Anabaena variabilis (CCALA 007), Chroococcus minutus 055), Fischerella cf. maior 067) and Nostoc muscorum 129), in manner dependent applied concentration. most significant stimulation was observed at dose 0.1 mM glyphosate. decrease amount...

Chalcones are the biogenetic precursors of all known flavonoids, which play an essential role in various metabolic processes photosynthesizing organisms. The use whole cyanobacteria cells a two-step, light-catalysed regioselective bio-reduction chalcone, leading to formation corresponding dihydrochalcone, is reported. prokaryotic microalgae produce phenolic compounds, including as natural components cells. It seems logical that organisms producing such compounds possess suitable "enzymatic...

2-Formylphenylboronic acids display many interesting features, not only from synthetic but also an application as well structural points of view. 5-Trifluoromethyl-2-formyl phenylboronic acid has been synthesized and characterized in terms its structure properties. The presence electron-withdrawing substituent results a considerable rise the acidity comparison with analogues. In some solutions, title compound isomerizes formation corresponding 3hydroxybenzoxaborole. Taking into account...

3‐Piperazine‐bis(benzoxaborole) and its bis(phenylboronic acid) analogue were investigated in terms of their fungicidal activity. The study was carried out against five filamentous fungi: Aspergillus terreus , Fusarium dimerum solani Penicillium ochrochloron niger . revealed higher inhibitory activity towards the examined strains than standard antibiotic (amphotericin B), whereas proved to be inactive. unequivocally showed that presence heterocyclic benzoxaborole system is essential for...
