Abstract Background and Aims To assess independent impacts of air noise pollution, residential green exposure on non-invasively derived coronary obstruction myocardial ischemia. Methods Consecutive patients screened by computed tomography angiography (CCTA) for stable chest pain between 01/01/2019 31/12/2020 were included in a registry. Exposure associations PM2.5 (particulate matter <2.5 micrometres), NO2 (nitric dioxide), major road distance, airport distance normalized difference...
BACKGROUND.: Lymphoedema of the operated and irradiated breast is a common complication following early cancer treatment. There no consensus on objective diagnostic criteria standard measurement tools. This study investigates use ultrasound elastography as an quantitative tool for diagnosis parenchymal oedema. PATIENTS AND METHODS.: The elasticity ratio subcutis, measured with elastography, was compared high-frequency parameters subjective symptoms in twenty patients, bilaterally, prior to...
Long coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was described in patients recovering from COVID-19, with dyspnea being a frequent symptom. Data regarding the potential mechanisms of long COVID remain scarce. We investigated presence subclinical cardiac dysfunction, assessed by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), recovered COVID-19 or without dyspnea, after exclusion previous cardiopulmonary diseases. A total 310 consecutive were prospectively included. Of those, 66 (mean age 51.3 ± 11.1 years,...
To retrospectively compare image quality of a lowered dose CT protocol to standard in children with suspicion craniosynostosis. Forty-eight patients (age 0- 35 months), who presented cranial deformity underwent 3D assess sutural patency: between 2009 – 2010, 24 were imaged (CTDIvol 32.18 mGy), from 2011-2012, low (0.94 mGy) combined iterative reconstruction. Image was evaluated by both expert reading and objective analysis. Differences assessed independent t-test Mann-Whitney U test,...
Abstract Aims Catheter ablation (CA) is an established treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF). A computed tomography (CT) may be performed before to evaluate the anatomy of pulmonary veins. The aim this study investigate prevalence patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) detected by cardiac CT scan pre-ablation and impact CAD revascularization on outcomes after AF ablation. Methods results All consecutive diagnosis, hospitalized at Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel, Belgium, between 2015...
A total of 1335 outpatients with suspected coronary artery disease and who underwent computed tomography derived fractional flow reserve (FFRCT ) analysis were examined. Only four patients showed reverse increase FFRCT from the proximal to distal vessel all them had a large ramus (RAM). Of parameters (vessel length, lumen volume, plaque left ventricular mass), only bifurcation angle was significantly higher in RAM group (106.0 ± 15.8°) than normal (82.6 21.7°) without (66.9 21.1°).
Computed tomography (CT) derived fractional flow reserve (FFR
Abstract Background The ramus artery contributes to the development of turbulence, which may influence computed tomography (CT) derived fractional flow reserve (FFR CT ) even without coronary disease (CAD). relationship between ramus‐induced turbulence and FFR is unclear. Method Results A total 120 patients with <20% stenosis assessed by both invasive angiography were evaluated. divided into three groups: absent‐ramus ( n = 72), small‐ramus that could not be analyzed 18), large‐ramus 30)....
Abstract Objectives Computed tomography (CT)–derived fractional flow reserve (FFR CT ) decreases continuously from proximal to distal segments of the vessel due influence various factors even in non-obstructive coronary artery disease (NOCAD). It is known that FFR dependent on vessel-length, but relationship with other morphologies remains be explained. Purpose To investigate morphological aspects vessels NOCAD right (RCA). Methods A total 443 patients who underwent both and invasive...
Objectives. To assess the impact of combining low-tube voltage acquisition with iterative reconstruction (IR) techniques on iodine dose in coronary CTA. Methods. Three minipigs underwent CCTA to compare a standard care protocol two alternative study protocols and low IR. Image quality was evaluated objectively by CT value, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise (CNR) main arteries aorta subjectively expert reading. Statistics were performed Mann–Whitney <mml:math...
Background: The association of known cardiovascular risk factors with poor prognosis coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been recently emphasized. Coronary artery calcium (CAC) score is considered a modifier in the primary prevention disease. We hypothesized that absence CAC might have an additional predictive value for improved outcome hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Materials and methods: prospectively included 310 consecutive patients COVID-19. Thirty history coronary were excluded....
To investigate the contrast media iodine dose dependency of radiation-induced DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) during a coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) scan.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) emerged as a worldwide health crisis, overwhelming healthcare systems. Elevated cardiac troponin T (cTn T) at admission was associated with increased in-hospital mortality. However, data addressing the role of cTn in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) COVID-19 are scarce. Therefore, we assessed baseline and kinetics for MACE mortality prediction COVID-19.Three hundred ten patients were included prospectively. One eight excluded due to incomplete...
To identify predictors of individual late pulmonary vein (PV) reconnection after second-generation cryoballoon (CB2) ablation. Anatomic indicators (LPVR) post-CB2 ablation have not yet been studied on an PV level, nor weighed against clinical and procedural factors.Clinical, procedural, anatomic data from 125 patients with a repeat procedure for arrhythmia recurrence index CB2 were analyzed. Preprocedural computed tomography (CT) evaluated 486 PVs measurement size; shape (ovality index);...
