Ultra-short electron beams, produced through the velocity bunching compression technique, are used to drive SPARC linear accelerator based source, which relies on emission of coherent transition radiation in terahertz range. This paper reports main features this radiation, as with spectral coverage up 5 THz and pulse duration down 200 fs, an energy per order several micro-joule, beam longitudinal diagnostics.

Numerical simulation of high-power gas lasers requires the integration a variety numerical techniques; simultaneous solutions must be obtained to large set ordinary differential equations, and several nonlinear partial equations. A family codes employing similar methods has been devised demonstrated remarkable success in predicting laser performance over broad range parameters. Two-color plasma, induced by two lasers of different colors, can radiate ultra-broadband and intense terahertz (THz) pulses, which is desirable in many technological scientific applications. It was found that the polarization emitted THz depends on phase difference between fundamental laser wave its second harmonic. Recent investigation suggests chirp-induced change pulse overlap plays an important role yield from two-color plasma. However, effect chirp remains unexplored. Hereby, we...

Formation and quenching processes of the XeCl (B) state have been investigated. Mixtures Ne/Xe/HCl irradiated by an electron beam 0.6 μsec duration. The results indicate that formation efficiency (C) states are 143%and 31%, respectively. If these closely coupled, ultimate (B→X) laser is 174%. Two-body neon major loss process. At a pumping current 7 A/cm2, mixing B C negligible; however, may be present, at most 20% effect.
