Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) is associated with increased levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and brain edema, which lead to the deterioration patient prognosis. Resveratrol serves a neuroprotective role in I/R injury, this may be its anti‑oxidative effects. However, resveratrol's mechanism action cerebral injury remains fully understood. In order investigate effect resveratrol I/R‑induced male Sprague‑Dawley rats were randomly assigned four groups: The sham‑operation group, group...

Methods: Consecutive defined by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) between January 2018 June 2020 were included the study. END was as any persisting increase National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score ⩾ 2 points post admission, favorable outcome a modified Rankin (mRS) 0–2 at discharge. Thirty four patients with cryptococcal meningitis seen in the University of Malaya medical centre since 1980 were reviewed. Eleven had bilateral papilloedema and visual impairment but eventually survived. Seven intensive aggressive measures, including shunting to reduce intracranial hypertension irrespective ventricular size shown CT scan, showed substantial improvement vision. It is concluded that failure reflects raised pressure this should be treated vigorously.
