Pancreatic cancer is a highly aggressive disease with rapid invasion and early encasement of blood vessels. Hence, levels circulating nucleic acids tumor-associated mutations in them may have clinical importance. We analyzed the tumor DNA oncogenic k-ras mutation plasma patients pancreatic correlated their survival clinicopathological parameters. Higher (>62 ng/mL) was found to associate significantly lower overall time (p = .002), presence vascular .030) metastasis .001). However, status...
Over the past few years, demographic profile of lung cancer has changed. However, most reports are limited by small numbers, short follow-up period, and show an inconsistent pattern. A comprehensive evaluation changing trends over a long period not been done.Consecutive patients were studied 10-year from January 2008 to March 2018 at All India Institute Medical Sciences, New Delhi, relevant clinical information, survival outcomes analyzed.A total 1862 evaluated, with mean (SD) age 59 (11.1)...
Hand-foot syndrome (HFS) is a dose-limiting side effect of capecitabine. Celecoxib prevents HFS by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) that upregulated because the underlying associated inflammation. However, systemic effects celecoxib have limited routine prescription. Topical diclofenac inhibits COX-2 locally with minimal risk adverse events. Therefore, we conducted this study to assess efficacy topical in prevention capecitabine-induced HFS.
Objectives Breast cancer (BC) stands as the foremost malignancy among females, annually contributing to substantial mortality despite its often-asymptomatic nature. The latest GLOBOCAN 2024 data reveals Asia’s staggering burden, with 2,144,232 reported cases, prominently led by China (44%) and India (26%). Materials Methods Gene expression datasets are retrieved from popular databases, namely NCBI’s Expression Omnibus . Differential analysis was executed using an identified set of key genes...
Objective: To evaluate the role of lithium (Li) as an adjuvant in radioiodine therapy hyperthyroidism. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was carried out on 350 hyperthyroid patients with a mean follow-up period 32.3 ± 9.8 months (range, 12–60 months). The were into two groups 175 each group: (1) group (controls)—no given to these at any stage their treatment and (2) (Li group)—lithium carbonate, 300 mg three times day, for 3 weeks starting day administration. All made euthyroid...
Abstract Background This study aims to analyze risk factors, clinical profiles, treatment protocols, and disease outcomes in histologically proven resectable vulvar cancer (VC) patients according tumor stage. is a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected database 20 VC from May 2014 June 2019. Results The mean age diagnosis was 55 years, with range 38–84 years. incidence four cases per year. significantly more post-menopausal (65%) multiparous (90%) women. According FIGO staging...
Abstract Background Primary lung sarcoma (PLS) differs in management protocols and prognosis from the more common primary carcinoma (PLC). It becomes imperative to raise a high index of suspicion on radiological pathological features. Purpose The aim this study is highlight variable imaging appearances PLS compared with PLC, which impacts radiologic - pathologic correlation. Materials Methods A retrospective observational 68 patients biopsy-proven tumors who underwent baseline at our...
Abstract Background This study was conducted to assess the clinical and prognostic significance of lack CD15 expression, proliferative index (PI), expression tumor suppressor protein p53 in pediatric classical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL). Procedure Pre‐treatment lymph node (LN) biopsies were studied by immunohistochemistry for immunophenotyping with Ki‐67 (PI) antibodies. Expression antigen on Reed‐Sternberg (H‐RS) cells, proliferation, apoptosis parameters correlated stage, response chemotherapy...
Background: The profile of patients with malignant melanoma in Asian countries is distinctly disparate from that those Western countries. Malignant a rare malignancy scarce literature India. Objectives: We aimed to describe the clinical profiles and outcomes Indian advanced melanoma. Materials Methods: retrospectively analyzed data consecutive who presented bone soft tissue sarcoma clinic at All India Institute Medical Sciences, New Delhi, between January 2016 March 2019. Our primary...
Thymomas are rare, but most common anterior mediastinal lesions. The histomorphologic spectrum of thymic epithelial tumours (TETs) in Indian population has not been explored depth. This study was aimed to assess the histomorphology TETs patients and correlate clinical parameters with pathological features. It a retrospective conducted tertiary referral hospital north India. All morphologically confirmed cases since 2009 were included. Clinical details histology slides reviewed using Modified...
Abstract Context Alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) is a rare tissue tumor most commonly occurring in deep intramuscular plane of lower extremities adolescents and young adults. It highly vascular, slow growing with malignant potential having lung as the common site metastases at time presentation. Aims The aim to review imaging findings ASPS determine characteristic features this tumor. Materials Methods Sixteen patients histopathological diagnosis preoperative attending dedicated clinic our...
Anorectal melanoma (AM) is a rare subtype of melanoma. To study the clinic-pathologic features and outcomes in patients with AM.Clinical, pathologic findings AM were recorded.Twenty-seven identified median age 57 years. Most presented stage III (44.4%). Lymph node involvement was seen 70.4%. The response to chemotherapy immunotherapy 16.6 25.0%, respectively. At follow up 11 months, overall survival 30 months. Ballantine 3 weight loss at presentation predictors poor survival.AM presents an...

Hemangioendotheliomas (HEs) are malignant vascular tumors with sparse descriptions in literature owing to their rarity.Ours is a retrospective study among patients of advanced HEs registered between September 2015 and April 2021.There were 13 median age 34.6 (range: 4-69 years), male preponderance (69%) predominant subtype epithelioid HE (76.9%). Common primary sites viscera (46.2%) bone (30.8%). Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) yielded objective responses 30% whereas chemotherapy only...
