Sediment replenishment below dams is an increasingly common practice in Japan to compensate sediment deficits downstream and improve habitat quality ecological functions. We reviewed implementation methods the context of placement, compared design activities undertaken Nunome River Trinity California. was supplied with a maximum 500 m3 mixed sand-gravel stream channel from single site through high-flow stockpile method during relatively small (80 m3/s) short (less than 4 hours) peak flow....

In this study, surface water samples were collected at sites located in the lowest reaches of closed (Geum) (i.e. with an estuary dam river mouth) and open (Seomjin) systems between May 2016 2018. We analyzed concentrations stable isotopes particulate organic carbon (POC) dissolved (DOC) to assess OC sources, estimate fluxes riverine OC, some factors driving exports these two contrasting Korean systems. Our geochemical results suggest that contribution phytoplankton-derived POC total pool...

ABSTRACT We estimated the contribution of reservoir‐derived plankton released from an upstream dam to particulate organic matter (POM) relative terrestrial allochthonous (fallen leaves) and instream autochthonous (downstream epilithic algae) sources in Uji River, Japan, investigate influence reservoir on downstream POM composition. Four types such as suspended fine, coarse, benthic fine coarse were collected then analyzed using two mixing models combining δ 13 C– 15 N: a standard linear...

To investigate the effect of summer monsoon-derived inputs particulate organic matter (POM) on patterns stable isotopes in food web a reservoir, we traced dietary sources carbon and nitrogen pelagic zooplankton herbivorous littoral zoobenthos following monsoonal disturbance Lake Paldang, large regulated reservoir Korea. Carbon were analyzed POM, zooplankton, sedimentary matter, zoobenthos, piscivorous fishes pre- post-summer monsoon periods. Sharp depletion 13C enrichment 15N POM along with...

As the tidal flat of Yubudo island located at Geumgang River estuary was registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage in 2021. It is essential to investigate spatiotemporal change for sustainable conservation. This study aims obtain high-resolution DEM continuous monitoring sedimentary landform, and analyze morphological characteristics intertidal around island. Sedimentary landform analyzed using orthographic images point cloud data which were obtained study. On west side comprised sandy...
