Nano-fertilisers have only recently been introduced to intensify plant production, and there still remains inadequate scientific knowledge on their plant-related effects. This paper therefore compares the effects of two nano-fertilisers common sunflower production under field conditions. The benefits arising from foliar application micronutrient-based zinc oxide fertiliser were compared with those titanium dioxide plant-growth enhancer. Both (ZnO) (TiO2) delivered by in nano-size at a...
Nanotechnology offers new opportunities for the development of novel materials and strategies that improve technology industry. This applies especially to agriculture, our previous field studies have indicated zinc oxide nanoparticles provide promising nano-fertilizer dispersion in sustainable agriculture. However, little is known about precise ZnO-NP effects on legumes. Herein, 1 mg·L-1 spray was dispersed lentil plants establish direct NP production, seed nutritional quality, stress...
In environmental and agronomic settings, even minor imbalances can trigger a range of unpredicted responses. Despite the widespread use metal-based nanoparticles (NPs) new bio-nanofertilizers, their impact on crop production is absent in literature. Therefore, our research focused effect spray application gold anchored to SiO2 mesoporous silica (AuSi-NPs), zinc oxide (ZnO-NPs), iron (Fe3O4-NPs) sunflowers under real-world environments. Our findings revealed that biosynthetically prepared...
Monitoring the occurrence of new alien species among native flora is first prerequisite for preventing their later invasive spread.During last decade, we recorded data regarding 25 taxa to Slovakia including 21 casual and 4 locally naturalised species, with ornamental plants predominating significantly. The Cenchrus flaccidus, Cotoneaster zabelii, Doronicum pardalianches Panicum virgatum are able spread habitats thus represent greatest risk plant in Slovakia.
The aim of our research was to connect the detailed study fruit anatomy black crowberry (Empetrum nigrum) with identification and detection main non-anthocyanin polyphenolic compounds. Our experimental results showed that highest accumulation anthocyanin bodies occurred in mature fruits outer layers during development. The shape most often globular, spherical, hemispherical intermediate types were present only occasionally.Mature cells gynoecium pericarp generally contain incorporated inside...
Total polyphenols content (TPC), antioxidant activity (AA) and polyphenolic spectrum assay of three underutilized fruit species—black crowberry (Empetrum nigrum), honeyberry (Lonicera kamtschatica) European cranberry (Vaccinium oxycoccos) is the aim present work. TPC AA was performed by spectrophotometry “individual phenolic compounds” were established high-performance liquid chromatography. The results showed that ranged from 1.61 ± 0.16 (European cranberry) up to 5.65 0.01 (Black cowberry)...
Our previous studies have shown physiological and yield intensification of selected crops with the application nanoparticles (NPs). However, impact on quantitative, qualitative, parameters maize (Zea mays L.) in field conditions remains highly debated. This study aimed to evaluate effects zinc oxide (ZnO-NPs), gold NPs anchored meso-biosilica (Au-NP-bioSi), titanium dioxide (TiO2-NPs) as biological stimulants under during vegetation season 2021 Central European region. The assessed number...
The aim of the study was to determine changes in anthocyanin content 17 selected Klčov's clones honeyberry (Lonicera kamtschatica (Sevast.)Pojark) during freezing at -18°C for 6 months and find out relationship between anthocyanins dry matter, sugar, organic acids ascorbic acid fresh fruits by cluster analysis.Clones can be divided into three clusters according total antioxidant capacity. The level measured samples 5.96-19.80mg 100 g -1 mass (FM).The scavenging effect acidified 80% ethanol...
One of the challenges in agriculture practices is guaranteeing an adequate and bioavailable phosphorus supply for plants on phosphorus-deficient soils. A promising alternative lies utilization phosphate nano-fertilizers (NFs) through spray applications. Therefore, this short-term study aimed to investigate yet undetermined widespread impact P-NFs crops characterized by broad leaves, intensive rate photosynthesis, belonging oilseed plant, sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). To achieve this, NFs...
On a daily basis, wide range of materials including inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) inadvertently find their way into the environment. Meanwhile, intentionally used NPs, such as new generation nanofertilizers (NFs) are designed to enhance agronomic production. However, physicochemical properties and not-so-well understood effects raise potential risks plant reproductive cycle, specifically pollen development, subject largely absent in academic research. Even slight contamination, deformation,...
We used cytological and embryological methods to study reproductive cycle stages in Cerasus fruticosa Pall., × eminens (Beck) Buia mohacsyana (Kárpáti) Janchen from SW Slovakia, focusing on development of the male female organs, fertilization processes embryo formation. We found that potential was reduced by synergistic effects negative biotic abiotic factors.Despite presence degenerated, deformed pollen grains their great variability shape size, a sufficient amount normally developed viable...
In contemporary agricultural practice, ensuring sufficient bioavailable macronutrients, particularly phosphorus, for plants in phosphorus-deficient soils remains a significant challenge. As promising alternative, the application of phosphate-calcium-based nanofertilizers (NFs), with or without zinc, emerges as suitable solution, offering targeted effects through foliar dispersion. However, current knowledge gaps persist regarding development and colloidal properties applied NFs their impact...
The formation and development of reproductive organs fruits was examined for two edible honeysuckle species Lonicera edulis Turcz. ex. Freyn. kamtchatica (Sevast.) Pojark. ‘Gerda’ using cytological embryological methods. We found out that the flower initiation has began during June in conditions southwestern Slovakia. Male female archespores were differentiated before entering winter dormancy. In most cases we have observed normally developed tetrads, normal appearance microspores,...
The presented eighth part of the series includes thirteen new chorological records vascular plants, one from Hungary, six Poland and Slovakia. In Ventenata dubia is reported. Poland, two native taxa Bolboschoenus planiculmis Najas marina subsp. four alien Buddleja davidii, Lupinus ehrenbergii var. ehrenbergii, Miscanthus sacchariflorus Sedum sarmentosum are Slovakia, Taraxacum paucilobum with distribution map Cotoneaster integerrimus reported as well Azolla filiculoides, Eichhornia...
