In the present work dispersion mechanisms in rivers are studied. The related direct and inverse problems formulated solved. problem is solved by finite volume method Levenberg–Marquardt method.
The dispersion coefficient parameterizes different and complex phenomena that control substance transport in water bodies. This article presents an inverse problem approach solved by the simulated annealing (SA) algorithm to estimate other parameters can model rivers with non-uniform geometry. method is compared two classical methods, peak concentration Chatwin. SA algorithm, Chatwin methods were applied advection–dispersion model, whereas was tested dead zone (DDZM) as well. are assessed...

This work presents a model for ocean drift simulations data obtained with the MOHID software in Campos Basin (RJ, Brazil) to study oil environmental issues. Results were compared satellite data, as well temperature and salinity by ARGO drifters available region.
This paper presents the application of data mining techniques for pattern identification obtained from analysis meteorological variables and their correlation with occurrence intense rainfall. The used were collected between 2008 2012 by surface station Polytechnic Institute Rio de Janeiro State University, located in Nova Friburgo - RJ, Brazil. main objective is automatic prediction related to extreme precipitation events surrounding location one hour prior its occurrence. Classification...
presente trabalho tem como objetivo estimar uma função que representa o aporte de um agente poluidor
This is the first of two complementary articles that deal with implementation an automatic calibration routine coupled to a simulation model runoff and flow urban watersheds, both located in city Nova Friburgo, State Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The models were built MOHID Waters Modelling System. part presents methodology construction Digital Terrain Model–DTM drainage network studied made platform, as well acquisition actual rainfall data water levels through site Instituto Estadual do...
This is the second of two complementary articles that deal with implementation an automatic calibration routine coupled to a simulation model runoff and hydraulic behavior drainage system watershed during flood events, built in water Modeling System MOdelo HIDrodinâmico (MOHID). As case study watersheds located city Nova Friburgo, State Rio de Janeiro were analysed. article discusses pertinent aspects related inverse problem technique coupling MOHID platform Luus‐Jaakola optimization...
The use of computational models varied complexity helps to understand the hydrological dynamics studying different scenarios urban flood. In this perspective, a model Macaé river basin (RH-VIII) was built using MOHID Land platform simulate implementation hypothetical attenuation reservoir for flood mitigation in region. results indicate that maximum flows obtained with simulation from project rainfalls were compatible values observed literature, region interest. analysis hydrograms (m3/s)...
Computational models have been widely used in the generation of scenarios and decision making environmental studies. In this paper, behavior parameters a highly impacted lagoon (Vigario Lagoon, Campos / RJ) was evaluated, with aid MOHID system. Results obtained field dispersion maps GIS graphical user interface (GUI), allowed for satisfactory diagnosis of water quality lagoon. interface, simulations different (sanitary discharges river outflow) points facilitated calibration model regarding...
There has been in recent years an increase interest and concerns about natural disasters, both the scientific community society, relation to their frequency intensity, association global warming, cyclones (hurricanes medicanes). In this work, two environmental hydrodynamics models are presented. The first model is built for Hurricane Irma that took place 2017 Caribbean second medicane Zorba 2018 Mediterranean Sea.The were developed using downscaling techniques on MOHID platform (a free open...
This work presents the results of hydrodynamic and transport, which were applied to a stretch Itabapoana River, located in northwest Rio de Janeiro State, order assess environmental consequences implantation Small Hydroelectric Plant. The models calibrated by comparing simulated observed data, for giving condition, regarding both water quality variables. Once calibrated, different scenarios, with special emphasis those generated under low flow regime, are environmentally more critics. showed...
This paper presents the determination of drainage network city Nova Friburgo-RJ, as well delineation watersheds that are under its territory, among them Bengalas river basin, which covers most urbanized area city. The platform was used MOHID and topographic data provided by IBGE municipal government. In order to verify reliability results, they were compared with ArcGIS software, renowned worldwide. We conclude there is a strong possibility using analyze profile flow basin tributaries.

This paper presents computer modeling applied to the disposal simulation residual volume from offshore cementing unit, where cement paste used by operations of oil and gas wells. The software was MOHID WATER with a lagrangian approach solid part residue represented conservative particles. It is able assess behavior in water column its accommodation on seabed. Future works using Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) standard methods are considered understand results possible resulting harm...
The urban region of many coastal municipalities is marked by the growing process urbanization its marine river plain and presents great challenges related to drainage rainwater. This study seeks verify influence flood wave, coming from upper part Macaé River hydrographic basin, in flooding area, using MOHID platform, Land module, for hydrodynamic simulation. municipality Macaé, located north Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), has a dense network tributary channels, built drain more quickly waters that...
