This study aimed to clarify the effects of radiopharmaceuticals and buffer solutions on accuracy Hoffman phantom examination. The was prepared using water immersion method injected with 3 different solutions: 123I-MIBG, 123I-IMP only, plus solution. Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) / (CT) imaging performed at 3-time points: immediately after encapsulation, 10 min stirring, 20 stirring. relative SPECT counts left-right ratios images obtained under each condition were...
The choice of injected dose 18F-FDG and acquisition time is important in obtaining consistently high-quality PET images. aim this study was to determine the optimal protocols based on patient weight for 3-dimensional lutetium oxyorthosilicate PET/CT. Methods: This a retrospective analysis 76 patients ranging from 29 101 kg who were with 228–395.2 MBq imaging. population divided into 4 weight-based groups: less than 45 (group 1), 45–59 2), 60–74 3), 75 or more 4). We...
Abstract Objective Surgery is the standard treatment for medication-related osteonecrosis of jaw (MRONJ). However, there are few reports on appropriate extent bone resection. This pilot study explores feasibility a new method estimating resection using single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)-standardized uptake value (SUV). Methods We retrospectively analyzed 8 MRONJ patients who underwent curettage (n = 2), with removal separated sequestrum or marginal 4) as part extensive...
Objectives Accurate estimation of radiopharmaceutical uptake in the brain is difficult because count statistics, low spatial resolution, and smoothing filter. The aim this study was to assess counting rate performance PET scanners image quality with different combinations high-resolution reconstruction algorithms 18F-2-fluorodeoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG)-PET. Materials methods Using 23 patient studies, we analyzed coincidence rates true random, random fraction, noise equivalent counts per axial...
We developed a custom-designed phantom for bone single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)-specific radioactivity distribution and linear attenuation coefficient. The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy phantom. lumbar consisted trunk body (background) containing cylinder (vertebral body), sphere (tumor), T-shaped container (processus). vertebral body, tumor, processus phantoms contained K(2)HPO(4) solution equivalent density 50, 300 50 kBq/mL (99m)Tc, respectively. 8...
The present study aimed to quantify which image reconstruction conditions for normal databases and patients affect statistical brain function analysis using an easy z score imaging system (eZIS) 3-dimensional stereotactic surface projections (3D-SSP). Methods: We constructed based on cerebral perfusion SPECT images obtained from 15 healthy individuals. Each database was created with the following unique conditions: a variable Butterworth filter cutoff frequency (fc) without...
The aim of this study was to optimize the number iterations in bone SPECT imaging using a novel thoracic spine phantom (ISMM phantom). Methods: quality and quantitative accuracy images were evaluated by changing size hot spot phantom. True SUVs vertebra, tumor, background parts 9.8, 52.2, 1.0, respectively. image reconstructed ordered-subset expectation-maximization algorithm with CT-based attenuation correction, scatter resolution recovery; subsets fixed at 10, ranging from 1 40....
This study aimed to determine whether a bismuth-coated latex shield (B-shield) could protect the eyes during brain SPECT/CT. Methods: A containing heavy metal bismuth (equivalent 0.15-mm-thick lead shield) was placed over cylindric phantom and of 3-dimensional filled with 99mTc solution. Subsequently, phantoms without B-shield were compared using The CT parameters 30-200 mA 130 kV. dose reduction achieved by measured pencil-shaped ionization chamber. protective effects determined evaluating...
The aim of this study was to validate the reliability dose calibrators for measuring radioactivity several radioisotopes in multi-institution.We evaluated measurement accuracy using a commercially available source ((67) Ga, (99m) Tc, (123) I, (201) TL). Nine (five models) seven institutions were performed study. Each measured at least 3 times day over period 4 half-life. Linearity concentration (%error value) and percent difference values (%diff measurement) between estimated calculated...
In the data sampling in single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), continuous rotating acquisition method has high clinical utility. There have been various reports about optimum step angle for acquisition. Objective evaluation was performed visually and by measuring spatial resolution with a column phantom to find locations far from rotation center, large produced artificial images tangential elongation. The 11.58 ± 0.19 mm full width half maximum (FWHM) as measured at of 3 degrees...
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect misregistration between single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and (CT) images on bone SPECT. Methods: We acquired SPECT CT a body phantom filled with bone-equivalent solution 99mTc for evaluation were reconstructed using attenuation correction maps obtained by shifting coefficients from non-shifted values (reference). Activity concentrations, standardized uptake (SPECT-SUVs), tumor background ratios (TBRs) evaluated....
