ARUZ is a large scale, massively parallel, FPGA-based reconfigurable computational system dedicated primarily to molecular analysis. This paper presents methodology for firmware development that simplifies the process, offers low-level optimization, and facilitates verification. According this methodology, firstly an expanded, generic, all-in-one VHDL description of variable Processing Elements (PEs) developed manually. GCC preprocessing then used extract only desired target functionality. A...
Reducing noise in fibre-optic gyroscope (FOG)-based rotational seismometers is crucial guaranteeing their applicability as future high-precision sensors. This paper presents a practical approach to analysis of designed and manufactured FOG-based three-axis seismometer. The performed measurements show that proper identification sources subsequent changes the device’s configuration which addressed these issues, visibly improved Allan deviation plot device. In particular, angle random walk was...
The European Spallation Source (ESS), which is currently under construction, will be a neutron source based on 5 MW, 2 GeV superconducting proton linac. Among other beam instrumentation systems, this high intensity linac requires Beam Loss Monitoring (BLM) system. An important function of the BLM system to protect from beam-induced damage by detecting unacceptably loss and promptly inhibiting production. In addition protection functionality, expected provide means monitor losses during all...

In this paper, the implementation of a molecular diffusion model named Dynamic Lattice Liquid (DLL) is discussed. Two algorithms, sequential and parallel, implementing are examined. The presented theoretical considerations indicate some limitations approach. proposed parallel algorithm overcomes these limitations, but it requires dedicated hardware. An example such hardware, FPGA-based HPC system ARUZ, presented.
In this paper we shall address the physical implementation of self-repairing and evolvable hardware strategies. These alternatives will be enabled by specific dynamic reconfiguration capabilities included in a new family FPGA devices, called FIPSOC (Field programmable System On Chip). The main features these devices are given integration on single chip dynamically reconfigurable FPGA, analog section microcontroller. As our experimental results show, efficient use available resources makes an...
Nowadays, a lot of modern digital systems are based on processor-memory architecture. Additionally, when large capacity and data transfer rate is required, SDRAM memory used. Moreover, there trend to combine multi-chip into one device, so called on-chip systems. In such defined built-in controller needed. This paper presents adapted work in fast image processing The interface the was simplified give more flexibility usage for designers.
REuP (REconfigurable microprocessor) is a concept of instructionless general purpose reconfigurable processor. Such architecture implies that any functionality can be achieved through variety solutions not necessarily equivalent to typical CPU implementation, thus application based tests are required provide its overall performance. The paper presents optimized implementation TwoFish encryption algorithm in analysed step by explaining methods performing individual operations architecture....
The beam loss detection is of the utmost importance for accelerator safety. At CEA, we are closely collaborating with ESS and DMCS on development nBLM. system based Micromegas* gaseous detector sensitives to fast neutrons produced when particles hit materials. This has powerful features: reliable neutron time response. nBLM control provides slow monitoring, security counting post mortem data.
