Flaxseed oil cake (FOC) was evaluated as a potential substrate for the production of novel kefir-like fermented beverage. Three variants containing 5%, 10%, and 15% (w/w) FOC were inoculated with kefir grains incubated at 25 °C 24 h. After processing, beverages stored in refrigerated conditions (6 °C) 21 days. Changes microbial population, pH, acidity, levels proteins, polyphenolics, flavonoids, ascorbic acid, reducing sugars estimated. Additionally, viscosity, firmness, color, antioxidant...
Flaxseed oil cake extract (residual from cold-press production and rich in proteins polysaccharides) was evaluated as a potential substrate for the preparation of spray-dried powders with emulsifying activity. Three variants were obtained using different spray-drying process inlet temperatures: 160 °C, 180 200 °C. The influence temperature on physicochemical features (water holding capacity, binding water activity, solubility, color, chemical composition, antioxidant surface morphology)...
Because of the bacterial drug resistance development, it is reasonable to investigate chemical compounds capable preventing spread mupirocin (MUP), commonly used in staphylococcal eradication. The objective study was verify influence essential oil (EOCs) on antibacterial activity MUP against mupirocin-susceptible (MupS) and induced low-level mupirocin-resistant (MupRL) methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. following parameters were examined: MRSAMupS MRSAMupRL...
The influence of accelerated UV-A and Q-SUN irradiation on the antimicrobial properties coatings containing ZnO nanoparticles was investigated using a polyethylene (PE) film covering. results study showed that Methyl Hydroxypropyl Celluloses (MHPC) did not growth S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli, P. aeruginosa or C. albicans cells. MHPC inhibited bacterial strains reduced number strains. Accelerated had no effect nano against cereus coli. decreased activity albicans. An FT-IR analysis clearly...
The iron compounds (iron(III) oxide‐hydroxide monohydrate FeO(OH) × H 2 O, iron(III) oxide Fe O 3 , and ascorbic acid) were used as oxygen scavengers modifiers in laminating of polymer films. This oxygen‐scavenging system was coated on preselected films (low density polyethylene [LDPE] terephthalate [PET]) from which the laminates formed. It presents new form composite material packaging that has function scavenging, could be suitable for food packaging. scope research included studies...
