Abstract Brazil, which is hyperendemic for dengue virus (DENV), has had recent Zika (ZIKV) and (CHIKV) Chikungunya outbreaks. Since March 2016, CHIKV the arbovirus infection most frequently diagnosed in Rio de Janeiro. In analysis of 1835 syndromic patients, screened by real time RT-PCR, 56.4% cases were attributed to CHIKV, 29.6% ZIKV, 14.1% DENV-4. Sequence analyses from sixteen samples revealed that East-Central-South-African ( ECSA) genotype been circulating Brazil since 2013 [95%...

Our hypothesis that CPB-induced post-operative dysfunction may be detected using laser Doppler perfusion monitoring (LDPM) in the skin microcirculation. Parvovirus B19 (B19V) infection varies clinically depending on the host’s immune status. Due to red blood cell precursors tropism, B19V can cause chronic anemia and transient aplastic crisis in patients with immunosuppression or hemolysis. We report three rare cases of Brazilian adults living human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. All presented severe required transfusions. The first patient had low CD4+ counts was treated intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). As he remained poorly...

Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) infection is associated with neurological abnormalities, such as HTLV-1-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP) and peripheral neuropathy (PN). Hepatitis C (HCV) the leading cause of chronic liver disease worldwide, causes PN in approximately 9% patients. Because interplay between these potentially neuropathogenic viruses same individual still poorly understood, clinical laboratory outcomes co-infected patients were...
